aFe Takeda intake installed and initial thoughts
What I got in the mail after work
http://imageshack.us/a/img268/5061/img0705pb.jpg Decided install it since it was still bright http://imageshack.us/a/img42/7704/img0707nx.jpg So initial thoughts of it wasn't too bad, didn't really feel much gains compared to stock to be honest but never expected to anyway. Sounds MUCH more grunty, it actually now sounds almost like a rexie and much more grunt on the lower half of the rev band instead of after 4k. Overall I'm satisfied with the product and cant wait till I get my TRD sound tube modifiers in (somewhere on the boat atm) to see how much more noise it makes :) |
are the sound tubes already on the market?
|
Yeah the sound tube hole slot comes with intake but you gotta drill a hole through it
|
so they go into the intake?? for some reason i thought they would be closer to the cabin
|
nice... the takeda one looks like the pick of the bunch for intakes at the moment.
but apparently the stock intake on our cars are actually pretty good, so i just went with a k&n drop in filter (at least for now) I don't really believe the dyno gains they've been getting lol (afe claim 9HP and 10lbft torque..........) |
nice. thanks for sharing. of all the intakes ive seen so far this would be my pick also. Videos please so we can all hear it?

Looks great! I love how the air intake tube, even the standard one, has a wide circumfrence. You know a performance engine from how wide their air intake tube is. Kinda reminds me of the current V8 M3's setup, with its huge air intake tube sitting loud and proud up the middle of the engine
