To all Perrin exhaust owners
 

I am undecided on which setup to get so if you guys would be so helpful and provide feedback and/or videos, it would be greatly appreciated!

For example, how is non resonated compared to resonated?

non resonated with catted front pipe and over pipe?

resonated with catless front pipe and over pipe?

etc. etc.

sound quality? tone? loudness (too quiet, too loud)? rasp? drone?

just anything and everything with your experience with the exhaust will help

I don't own the exhaust, but a good friend does.

IMO, the resonated version is too quiet. I had a hard time discerning it from stock while in the car.

If you dead set on Perrin, go unresonated. It's not very loud, but at least you can hear a growl when you get on it :)

^^ Does he have the cat back, or the header back? The header back is apparently noticeably louder than the cat back.

He's got a catback. I haven't heard the headerback.

I think typical piece of advice is: if you're going ONLY catback, go with resonated. If you're going front and over and/or headers (when they get released) then go resonated.

You meant ONLY Catback, UNresonated, if going with more REsonated. :thumbsup:

I have the headerback:
+ Cat front pipe (Edit: I'm tired.)
+ Resonator

Note that I have not heard any of the other configurations of the headerback or catback in person.

Here are my feedback (I do not have an intake, drop-in filter or tune)
+ Idle is dead quiet. You cannot hear the exhaust even with windows rolled down. I do not want to attract attention while waiting at a light.
+ The system does get on with sound when you start off from a light. Frankly I think the sudden exhaust noise surprises everyone, and I love this.
+ Gears 2+ pulls harder. If you don't have a dyno (I don't) then this is the primary way you'll feel the extra gain.
+ When you are cruising, the exhaust gets out of the way so you can enjoy conversation, music, NPR, whatever your fancy. When you want to pass, it'll let you know you are passing.
+ It is a mature sound. No rasp, no drone, hissing, cam noises. Just a deep full sound. IMO this is not exotic car noise.
+ I think this is true of any exhaust; it'll let you hear your blips when you rev match downshift. In the end I think this makes you a better driver.

i'm non resonated and catless and love every second of it. not too loud but very powerful sounding. like a beast waiting to be unleashed idk.

but having one sound dampener of some sort might be a safe route to go as it wouldnt be too quiet or too loud.

edit: also, because of the extra sound, its a bit easier to save gas as you can be more aware of how much throttle you give.

anyone has cat front pipe with non res cat back?

would love some feedback on this. i'm leaning towards this setup.
