I tried the cheap route through eBay and had nothing but problems. First the guide lines could not be turned off and then video plug was to large to fit through the trunk to body rubber acordian.

So I broke down a purchased the Rydeen Duo ZH07-150B from taradios on ebay $138.

Video pins are from SVXdc and can be purchased here - http://ae64.com/Rear-camera-16-pin.htm
$20.00

I mounted the camera in the center position and used a small rubber wedge for a better upward viewing angle. Power and ground from the audio amp in the trunk. After everything was buttoned up I found an empty parking lot and used the parking space lines to adjust the guide lines.

I like it, I have been driving a friends F-250 Superduty with a (Factory) backup camera for the last week (left ankle is FUBAR'd) and I think I actually want one now.

How hard was the integration? (forgive me i haven't looked yet)

is there a provision for video in reverse or do you have to get creative with the video lockout?

Add the pins from SVXdc to the factory harness, Power the camera so it's always on, run a video line to the head unit, the radio does the rest.

Adjusting the guide lines - My radio only showed video in the Impreza 4-door, 5-door, and XV. The XV has slightly different guide lines.

I also did same but mounted in the factory location. +1 for SVXdc. Dave provides awesome service.
@sparks - I noticed you positioned your camera in the center but the guidelines are a little bit skewed still. Is that because the head unit doesn't let you adjust the lines incrementally? If I understood correctly you said the headunit only lets you adjust for 3 vehicles (Impreza 4, 5, and XV). Is there a way to get the lines perfectly centered?

I can only adjust the guide lines on the Impreza settings. All the others don't show video.

The guide lines are preset to the stock camera location of the Impreza (off center). They may look off center but they are perfectly straight behind the car. Using a empty parking lot lines made it easy to adjust.

Looks good Sparks! You should be able to adjust those lines so they are moved over to the left to compensate for your center mount position. I did the same thing on mine.

By the way, which exhaust do you have?

Exhaust is the Axle back from Nameless Performance.

Sitting in the parking lot I made sure the car was evenly spaced between the lines, then adjusted the guide lines to match the lines of the open spot behind. Even though they look off a little, they are spot on. Backing into the drive way confirmed propper alignment.

I'm going to play a little more with the setup screens for the 4 and 5 door models.

That's odd, since your camera is center mounted, the guide lines should be centered as well. The true center of your display image should be the true center of your car, with equal field of vision on either side.

When I park my car, I throw it into reverse real quickly to see if the image is completely centered between the parking space lines (yes I'm that anal LOL). If it centers up on the display, then I know I'm centered in the space.
