BRZ Canadian USB & Aux Swap?

I am still waiting for my BRZ to arrive, but I was disappointed in seeing that the USB & Aux cables are not in the same location as the American one.

As my car gets closer I was wondering if anyone had swapped the USB & Aux locations yet?

This is the Canadian Dash & Glove(where the usb&aux is located =\ )

And this is how the American one looks

If someone has can you post a DIY, I couldn't find anything on this topic.

I don't have an answer for you, but the picture just reminds me how much more I like the Canadian nav unit vs the US one (crappy that it has no voice rec though). Sorry off topic...

Uhh... most people would want what we have in Canada (Inside the glove compartment where it is all hidden) over the fully-exposed iPhone wire hanging out of your centre console... :iono:

That being said; the FR-S in Canada does has that mounted in the centre console.

I like it in the glove box personally, that way I dont have to see the cables/USB all the time.

Since every degree in celcius is 1.8 degrees fahrenheit, it would only make sense for them to get .5 degree increments. However, as a numbers guy, I am jealous of the apparent level of precision their units display :D

Even so, I expected it to show whole Celsius degrees.

@ OP, you can probably get the part that plugs into the dash. I've seen one from a old Outback that just has a USB input on the back as well.

These may help:

OEM BRZ part is called: Stereo jack adapter ASSY No.1

Here's another thread somewhat related to what you're trying to do: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8595

I wish mine was in the glove box, you are lucky. Also wish I had the Pioneer unit you guys get instead of the Fujitsu-Ten here.

I have one of the centre USB jacks for sale. It is brand new in the box, I will sell it for what I paid...$75.00 plus shipping. I was going to do the switch but changed my mind. Let me know.

So do US model BR-Z not have anything in the glove box?

In a Canadian FR-S I have 1 USB/Aux in the dash (same spot as the US BR-Z) as well as a USB in the glove box (no aux there though, which I would actually prefer)

I bet you can buy that USB/Aux combo port pretty cheap from toyota. It's the same one used in other models toyota makes.
