Stock plate holder ftw

I have mine ziptied currently but I feel like I'm blocking air from getting in. So... Im going to buy the Grimmspeed relocator kit once they get it back in stock. Currently, they have one part missing that is needed for the kit.

Plus it looks tacky and sort of cancels out the great looks of these cars. My neighbor has the Perrin bracket on his BRZ and it's very slick, if you don't want to wait for the Grimmspeed.

You cant tell zipties are being used unless you stand a few feet away from the car. I dont like the look of the license plate being on the side of the bumper; I like it to be in the middle.

Good to know though, thanks

Clever, but your plate is unreadable so you might as well not have a front plate.

mact 10-28-2012 11:49 PM

It's readable from the front.

Here's exactly how your front plate ticket will play out.

You'll be driving along one day where there's no other cars around and you have to make a trip that is outside of the city, like a road trip or a weekend getaway, and you'll be on a interstate doing 5 or 10mph over the speed limit like any average joe would when you crest a hill or round a long bend and BAM, there he is.

He's got his radar gun pointed right at your car and he hasn't seen a car for 15 minutes. You're not speeding enough to get a ticket but he notices the plate... on come the lights. $10 says the officer recites the actual wording in the law that says mounting it behind the front bumper is illegal. He will know that law word for word. They pretty much all do. It's kinda how they're trained to raise that revenue for the state ya know!

But personally, I like how you mounted the plate. I think it looks good.

or "obstructed" plate... If you're don't like the look of the plate, probably just as well off with not mounting it, but you take that risk for getting stopped.

If you get one of the tow-hook plates, you can sell it later when you sell your car. You could drill into the bumper (please don't!), or you can be real cheap and zip tie in front of the bumper.

I might go with a tow hook bracket. I see an intercooler in my near future.
