Auto-Up/Down and Passenger Window Not Working

So I just noticed this earlier today, but my auto-up and auto-down on the driver's window stopped working, but it will roll up and down. However, the passenger side won't respond at all. Here's the REAL kicker: My illuminated window buttons are blinking.

I'll be taking the car by the dealership, but has anyone else heard of this issue? I just tried doing a quick search and only saw posts about window seal and squeaking issues.

I heard something about resetting those buttons by holding down and ehh I forgot but it should be simple.

Put car to on, engine off. Push and hold button down until window rolls down and you hear a click. Then hold window button up until it rolls up and you hear a click. Someone forgot to reprogram your window controls....

The same thing happened on my FR-S driver window one morning when it was frosty. The window stuck to the rubber seal and then the same problem mentioned here happened. The method you describe to reset the window does work. I hope that isn't going to be a common problem with the window getting stuck to the rubber.

I've had to reset mine 6-7 times, but that's because I've had the door panels off that many times. Every time I've disconnected the switch from the wiring I've had to reset. Takes less than 10 seconds to reset, so no biggy.

I'll check out your tip in the morning. Thanks!

The blinking happened at the dealer when he was in the ecu and reset the memory for only the windows while troubleshooting the passenger window function from the driver side. The holding the button tip did work. I think the door had to be shut though. Passenger side button from the driver side still only works 50% of the time. They are ordering me another switch. They will end up telling me this is how it is supposed to function though.

My windows started this after a frost this morning. I had my ECU replaced recently. I'll try to reset it myself this afternoon. Thx

I thought this occurred after a washed my car, but when I started paying attention more closely, it stopped happening after car washes. Then last night it did it seemingly at random while it was just a little cold outside and it's BEEN freezing outside... I reset it. No clue why it just gave up at that moment, after almost two weeks without incident.

The dealership just told me what was posted here about resetting it.

BTW, you only have to click the driver's window up and down to reset them BOTH. One less button to worry about.

Update: So I get a call from the dealership after they spoke with Subaru. Get this, Subaru is claiming that they're getting a fair amount of calls on this issue and they all come from owners with tinted windows, and their explanation is that there's a small amount of metal in the tint that's causing the auto window program to crash. After I stopped laughing, I asked why it's only happened to me twice when we had a freeze after a rain while my windows have been tinted for months. They couldn't answer that one, but did say that the word from Subaru seemed "odd". They're going to talk with the regional rep when he's in next week and let me know what he says. Classic.
