(Garage Queen--SOLD)
Scroll Down for Update!
Summary: - Waited three years for the production of this car. - Didn't think I was ever going to get one. - Dad started showing interest in the car - August, we were ready to buy one, but non available in color/trans at MSRP - Dad and I had one pre-allocated at our dealership with no known date of arrival. - Dad surprised me two months later, and I detailed the car by myself for 9 hours. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8334/8...b31bd1d8f6.jpg UPDATE (ONE MONTH LATER): 11/11/2012 Happy one month to our baby, the FR-S! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8199/8...28ec48d6_z.jpg We put the JDM Emblems + Wheel Caps and the Euro GT86 Emblem (for those who saw my thread about it) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8341/8...d27d9d1641.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8479/8...bbc99eb9d1.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8208/8...9a51a5f582.jpg And also the JDM Sidemarkers. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8070/8...de29053a18.jpg We have the BeatSonic Shark Fin in a Group Buy as well! And that's all there is to it! We have no plans of doing anything else to the car, but this thread will still have a purpose. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8350/8...7a7298f539.jpg In the first month my dad has only put 101 miles on it (We got it at 5 Miles). I actually calculated our mileage rate if we kept driving 101 miles a month on average. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8490/8...ff1413c5_z.jpg I highlighted 29 Years because that's how old a 1984 Ae86 is. Can you still find a stock Ae86 with such low miles?! I would drool at such a thing... I won't be driving this car until after the break-in period because I'm still learning how to drive a manual transmission. I should also note that we'll rarely find a day to bring it out between Now until April because of the rain season, so I doubt we'll be hitting 100 miles again per month. I'm guessing for this second month it'll get an additional 75 miles to it. So I will keep this thread updated based on stories behind the miles, we usually go to a random spot when we drive this car and I always bring my camera. I'm actually considering making a scrapbook for it! If it happens, I hope my children and my grandchildren will be able to enjoy this car... Nice write up! Your joy came through very well. ENJOY! I am sure you will remember that car forever.

Did you save the plastic wrap for memorabilia?
|
Well worth the wait huh? And awesome detail job. what are you planning for your first mod?
I can see your a Toyota family. You have a Prius, 4Runner and now an FR-S? Is that all you guys you own? Were pretty similar lol. I drive a Celica GT-S (soon to be an FR-S hopefully  ), and my family owns a '97 Previa S/C, '03 Tundra, '03 IS300 and my bro's '09 Corolla Xrs. |
Congrats on having something that you and your dad will both enjoy!!!

We are definitely a Toyota family. We also have one more—my car—an 06 Corolla S. Toyota is a big part of my family as well! That’s awesome! I’ve been looking for used Celicas to learn stick in! I love people with familes who have Toyota pride :respekt: Quote:

Congrats!
Pic request: you and your dad :D with the car in the background outside |
Curious, did the dealer make you sign a waiver that states the dealer would not be responsible for any shipping damage to the body, since you did not remove the plastic wrap?

It makes absolutely no sense to buy a car like this and never drive it. It's a waste but that's just my opinion of course.
