Looking for a good store bought wax

I bought my whiteout FR-S last Friday, I love the car to death. One thing I've noticed is that it obviously didnt come from the dealer with any kind of wax and dew from the morning/rain leaves a lot of sitting water on the car.

I have a little bit of time tomorrow and would like to wax my car. Down the road i'll order a better wax online but for the time being i'd like to just get one at any auto store. Does anyone have any recomendations? I'd be doing it by hand and the only experience I have waxing is the paste that I just let sit til haze and clean off.

Thanks!

Do you have any wax at home already?

Griots Garage sells some of their stuff at Advance Auto now. I've heard good things about their Best of Show Wax, but haven't tried it myself yet.

Pretty much anything at your local parts store will work, just the durability will be in question. If you can get Collinite, its got the best durability of pretty much any wax at any price, and its less than $20.

Best of Show can be a nightmare, I really wish you luck. Like Ken mentioned above Collinite is great choice if you can find it, the key with it is thin layers. If you have a Car Quest or Napa close by you can find some Duragloss. Check out Autoality.com when you have time, great prices, great service, and I believe he has added another shipping option of 5lbs or less ships for free. Give them a call. :)

I've had good success with the higher end Meguiars waxes you can find at many stores. I've used their NXT, Ultimate, Gold Class, and #26 (pro line - tan bottle) that were purchased locally.

Meguiars sealant 2.0. Easy on, easy off, looks great.

NXT is good, easy to come off. Ice is also pretty good, neither last real long. Just got some NuFinish NFP-80 for the wifes car since I've not had time to opti-coat it. Supposed to work well and consumer reports has given it top marks more than once I believe. I'll be doing her car this weekend, see how it goes.

I used to always get Ice and NXT when they were in the clearance isle's at Walmart for 3-5 bucks, this is the first time I've paid more than that for wax I think!

I've been using Eagle 1 nano-wax for a year or so now (purchased at local auto supply stores) and I'm quite liking it. Easy on/off and lasts for months, even on a car that's in the sun a lot. I was using carnauba paste wax before, and not looking back.

Forgot to mention Duragloss. Great line. Very under rated. 501 followed by 105 will make your white look awesome. Both bottles will set you back about $20 total.

I ended up going to Auto Zone and picking up Mother's Brazilian Carnauba wax. They really didn't have much of a selection. Its was either that, Turtle Wax or McGuire's.
