the FR-S already sounds great:party0030: but when i went to the first 86 fest i met some cool people that had a design for the car in witch you can fit a sub in your car that would bolt on. no wire cutting and no soddering it takes about an hour and a half to install. When i saw it not only did it look good but, it sounded amazing. It was crisp, it augmented the sound system, turned it from great to +. you can get the sub in any color to match your car, they also offer it in carbon fiber. I want one so bad, saving up. the company is called OEM audio +. check them out!

$1,099.00 for sound.. rather imrpove the engines sound (intake..ect)

No doubt it's a decent setup but i would say it's worth $700 max for what you get, the sub enclosure would be $300 or so if it was custom but they have a mold and are making them in bulk quantities. I'm sure the price will come down over time though.

Stock sound system works great for my electronic music.....

Are you just trying to produce enormous bass and rattle the neighborhood with rap music or something?

The sound system in this car is great for a under 30K car.
Though what is posted above in the link is toooo expensive. I'll gladly spend $500 for something like that but not double it. :bonk:

I'm planning on buying the Subaru sub when it becomes available. I am very happy with the stock speakers but it definitely needs a sub. The Subaru one should be <$500 and I think it just plugs into the wiring harness that is already in the trunk, so no wire splicing required.

Coming from a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan to this, the OEM audio is phenomenal. I spent more than I'm happy to admit redoing the audio in it and all the FR-S needed IMO was a single 12" sub which I happily threw in. The BeSpoke head unit could've definitely been much better especially for the additional cost to the car but that's where we have one of the easiest upgrade paths. To each their own but these are my thoughts.

lol rattle the neighborhood obviously not theres i'd need a subwoofer but I'm talking about the sound clarity itself there just isn't any depth to it..maybe its because I'm coming from a car that had a really good sound system so its skewing my judgement lol. Also the speakers make this annoying rattle noise at times and I dont even have my bass up its at like +1.

What do you guys have your speaker settings at? Theres settings that pop up asking high and low something but I'm not quite too sure whats the perfect setting.

JoeBoxer 10-12-2012 04:01 PM

Whatever sounds the best to you is the perfect setting, i switch back and forth depending on what kind of music and whether its a cd, pandora, or ipod. Sound deadening will help the factory system a lot, i would suggest a pack of Raammat BXT II and a pack of Peel & Stick Ensolite from www.raamaudio.com should get you started.

No doubt if you're coming from something better than this can feel less than adequate. It's on par or better than a lot of other similar year cars on the road today though.

the price is a little much, that is what i thought until i heard it. it is awesome go and hear it for yourself. the reason it is a little more pricey is because of the convenience.

YourFearlessLeader 10-13-2012 12:28 PM

FWIW TRDSparks has it for $975

http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=4425

Still not sure if its worth that much though, I need to hear it in person.

I am confused as hell reading the components

  • Front 1" Soft Dome Tweeter
  • Factory Speaker Optimization
  • Multi-Channel 32-Bit DSP Amplifier (360 Watts RMS @ 2-ohms)
  • Subwoofer Amplifier (120 Watts RMS @ 2-ohms)
  • Quick-Sync "Plug & Play" Wiring Harness
  • 8" Dual Voice-Coil Carbon Fiber Subwoofer System
Does anyone know anything more about this???
