Odd run ins and Road Rage????

It's a recurring theme around this and every other forum I have ever visited on a regular basis. This type of car hates another type of car. He cut me off and I didn't do anything to provoke it. Everyone wants to race me and I don't know why. It goes on and on and on.

I seriously don't get it. After owning more cars than I should have had the right to own in this life, I just don't see people behaving in any of the ways I mentioned above on a regular basis. Sure, every once in awhile someone pulls up and revs a bit. That happens. But more often than not they aren't being an ass, they just want to have some fun. I see the rev as a sign of respect between mutual car people. Seeing as I do all my racing on a RACE TRACK, I let those folks rev and then follow them as they blast away from whatever we were stopped at, using them as a pic for the potential ticket waiting down the road a bit.

I just don't understand all the hate associated with people that own a brand of car different from the one you chose. I'm pretty sure everyone chose the car they are driving at any given time to serve whatever needs they have at that point in their life. Stop the hate and just DRIVE people!

Lives in Alabama, complains about people hating on his Japanese car...

When I had my 05 Mustang GT I was driving home minding my own business and in my rear view mirror I saw an M3 with Nevada plates racing toward me. He pulled around me, got in front of me, gave me the finger, then raced across two lanes of traffic to an exit ramp. Talk about weird. Yea, it was a 20 something kid. My Legend Lime Green stang was easy to pick out. But giving me the finger was weird.

Nope. Not complaining at all about people on the roads. Honestly not "complaining" about the people on forums "complaining" about the people hating on their particular car. I just want to know why they care what others think about the car they chose to buy.

Just drive!

I became a licensed driver in 1950 and was driving for several years before that. In the following years I've learned a lot and one thing I've learned, no matter what kind of a vehicle you drive, if you behave on the road like a jerk you'll be treated like a jerk.

There's always the other side the story that's never told online:

"I was driving like a **** and/or talking shit to the cop and then... <insert online rant here>"

I never noticed....maybe I don't care?

Good rant though.

Jealousy is a green eyed monster.

Driving in LA road rage was a daily occurrence and a part of daily life. Now that I live in a small Northern California town I actually hate driving into a big city (Sacramento).

I try to drive "nice" no matter what I'm driving. At the most I may speed the avg 10 mph above. I have also owned a variety of cars some cool some not so awesome, but I have noticed over the years that when I have been in a sports car there are some other drivers out there that see a sports car coming and their inner asshole comes out. I try not to take the bait and stay as far away from them as I can but there are times when it is unavoidable. I have never been in an accident. I have had my share of speeding tickets (V8 stang from age 18-22) but I think it depends on the personality behind the wheel. I took a defensive driving class very young and it really changed my outlook on driving in general. It didn't help with my lead foot, but maturity changed that for me. Just my 2 cents on this.

Hey, its just typical I guess... I had a guy run a stop sign in front of me while I leaned on the horn. He just gave a smart ass wave to me. Flipped him the bird... He stops gets out and throws a pink lemonade drink up against the windshield and starts cussing me because he has his kid in the car... Mine was in my car at the time too. I'd say neither of us were totally right, but I believe I had a right to give expression at his careless driving that put my daughter, car and myself in danger. I'd say that I lost good "daddy" points that day, but he by far was the biggest ass of the day in front of his kid, wife and my daughter.

I've owned my car since July and have yet to have a single person try and race me. Maybe I'm just starting to look old, but I think a lot of it has to do with the driver as well.

At least every coupe, sedan, minivan, SUV, hybrid, and truck doesn't want to race you. Come to Texas and it's like the Daytona 500 year round.

I like to Drive with a purpose....Don't like it stay out of the Passing lane :) , Also known in my eyes as the speeding lane, but you do have those folks who feel they need to cut you off to slow you down. That does nothing but piss me off.
