perfect car!

So every night I get off work I look forward to getting in my beautiful ultramarine fr-s and driving around town. It's such a perfect car to drive and hug the curves. I cannot express how amazing this car feels. I just thought I'd share my feelings about this car. And if your in the saint Louis area I'm the vp of a small car club called mixed world customs if your interested pm me for information

Does it have auto lights for night time?

This annoys me too. Theres so many little things they cheaped out on, that would add a lot of value.

I'd rather have that then rear child seat mounts. It's pretty obvious this is not a family car lol.

ya that blows but I guess the money goes towards a great driving experience so great choice!

nab335 10-11-2012 04:15 AM

lol this car is FAR from perfect but i still love it.
i dont mind the auto light thing to much but i get annoyed how the speakers are so shitty, the lack of a miles to go indication, and they also should have added a kneepad from the factory im so tired of my knee against such a shitty uncomfortable surface

and no steering wheel controls WTF TOYOTA??

i have 2 kids and we get around just fine, why cant it be a family car?

my family is a 2+2 and so is my car, perfect for now :D

i actually find it convenient that i can sit on the door sill and buckle them in, plus they car is low so they can climb in all on their own, and with a 5 star crash rating with rear curtain air bags, i feel safe not only in an accident but i also feel safe in regards that i can avoid one too much better than most vehicles on the road :D

Pretty sure LATCH is required by law in new cars.

i believe if you are over 5'0" tall, you will
end up a "deformed" human when exiting
the back seat, and may possibly be wearing
a ''colostomy" bag for the remainder of your life.
also,i would NOT recommend attempting to "fu*k"
back there either, as there is no sun roof option!..just sayin'

Get a minivan. There shouldn't be a sunroof on a car when they worked so hard to get the center of gravity lower than the Cayman. Glass is heavy!

Also, to the thread starter... screw you! My ultramarine FR-S is hanging out on a train... somewhere... in the US. It hit port on the 23rd of September, and there's been utterly no updates or progress indications. Apparently it'll just show up one day.

I want my baby :(!

But back to my original point... miles to empty? Auto-on headlights? Come on guys, it's an incredible car for 24k. If you wanted all the toys you should have bought the Subie. Toyota probably can't put all the options on the scion because of some agreement with Subaru about competing for the same customers.

Ingen, that's the second thread you've made this assertion in. Where are you getting this from?! Source?! Because if they had a "non competition agreement", they wouldn't be selling both cars in the same market at all. It's not like Ferraris and Fords, where someone's driving an FR-S today, but really dreams of winning the lottery so he can go buy a BRZ.

Also? See every other market in the world that gets multiple trim levels; and America's history of getting ****ed over by foreign car makers, and getting whatever scraps they decide to throw us (e.g. 240SX instead of Silvia, only three years of the FD3S, etc...) There is no non-competition agreement: Toyota simply made the decision that it was not financially viable to send over multiple trim levels (probably right), and this segued nicely with Scion's loathsome "no trim levels, one spec model" business plan. Subaru obviously felt differently about the idea of trim levels (though I wonder how many people specifically wanted the Premium and not the Limited trim, versus how many settled because that's all they could find).

If they had put all the comfort creatures of today's cars (steering wheel controls as an example), the price point would have been much higher. Then everyone would be crying foul over the price.

Did you happen to change the mode to FR-S? By default it's set to TC (Another Scion Model) It sounds terrible if you don't set it and it seems like so many dealers don't know about it.

You have a point, but there are enthusiasts out here who have owned two-seat sports cars prior to their FR-S / BRZ, which have made a compromise out daily driving in the past. I would've loved to own a fun-to-drive, lightweight sports car with at least some versatility to take my small kids and car seats to go along... And now that day has come.

Yeah, it's tight back there... But I can take my two kids w/ car seats anywhere without making myself feel guilty or selfish. And that's significant for me... Just because this car is a two door sports car, that doesn't mean that a family man can't get the best out of it.

Now, don't get me boiling... :mad0260: ;)

(Sorry for the rant!) :D

My only real gripe where I felt they cheaped out on was Auto-lightt and auto-lock/unlock for the doors. Even my 04 corolla has this. I know I know, it's an LE model but still. I still forget to lock my doors manually after getting in and hate unlocking it before I get out.
