Thoughts? Hankook V12 concepts?
Looks like a really nice general purpose summer tire. Good for everyday use with occasional autox days. What would you guys think? I can get a pretty good deal as my shop is a hankook dealer.

There is no such thing as the V12 concept. There is the V12 EVO and the V2 concept. Which one are you referring to?
You could have also helped everyone out and posted pictures, spec sheets, etc. V2 Concept http://ridestechtoys.com/wp-content/...-Concept_l.jpg Specs Moar V12 EVO http://www.treadsource.com/images/M/HK_Ventus_V12.jpg Specs Moar |
Sorry, made a quick post at work and combined the 2. I was referring to the V12 Evo's. And I was going to post spec sheets and pics tonight, thank you for helping me out with that one.

You can get these dirt cheap at discounttiredirect dot com. I think I got mine for ~$560.

We're a Hankook Distributor, so obviously we're obligated to say that we like them, but with all bias's put aside, I have them on my own personal car, running them for about 8 months now, and honestly seeing the other tires in it's price range, it doesn't get a lot better. Price is great, comfort and noise level are above average, grip is great, and wet weather it does well too. Honestly probably one of the best all around tires I've had, and once you look at the price, not a bad deal there either.
I'd say 8 out of every 10 wheel/tire packages we do, for summer fitments, are with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo Tires. |
awesome tyre in the rain. will get shredded at trackdays. (chunks fall off)
softer sidewall.. good tyre. :) |
I've been looking at these a great deal. Tirerack reviews seem to show they have decent longevity and they are on the top tires thread on Nasioc fwiw.

they can, just its a very soft compound. but yeah VERY good in the wet.
I did a trackday with them and they were OK after but yes visibly damaged. |

I ran some Hankook Ventus Evo V12 on my last car (Genesis coupe). The front tires lasted well over 30k miles while the rear was about 15k or so (staggered setup). Performance wise they were excellent until the half life, then wet traction really was an issue. However, 30k miles really exceeded my expectations so I can't really complain. When I get my new wheels for my 86, I am considering the following 2 street tires (just to try something new)
1. Continental ExtremeContact DW (they are lighter than the Hankooks and Dunlop star specs) http://www.ridelust.com/wp-content/u...ontactDW_1.jpg 2. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (great tread design, and awesome reviews) http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Vredestein-Se...G0lw~~48_1.JPG Price wise, all these tires are about the same. Good luck! |
I have them on my car and like them. For the price you can't find a better tire and I feel they are just as good as many higher priced tires.
