incase the dealer doesn't put 93 in the tank...

do you think it's a good idea to add in an octance boster right after picking the car up? say they did put 93 octane in and you add the octane booster. is it bad to have too high of an octane on a brand new car? will it throw off the ECU learning?

my dealer put v power in because i asked them to, and i went with them when they filled it up,

if it was me i would run threw that first tank of gas and from then on out fill up with 93

Better bet, after seeing all the threads that have been dedicated to this topic (thats right folks, the :search: police are back), you better bet is to just drive the car, though most of the tank, but not really get on it, fill up with 93, and forget it happened.

Octane booster won't make a huge difference with a full tank. And adding it to 93 won't bump it up more than 1 point, in estimation. The car should be able to run on race gas (>100 octane), but it isn't recommended for daily driving.

octance boster is a joke it dose nothing!!!! most bump .25 Octance a tank

Your car will run fine on 87 won’t hurt anything the car will just pull more timing (- 10 to -15 HP) if you floor it which you should not since you just picked it up.

READ THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Stop freaking out about 87 octane PLEASE

I can't even find 93 octane around my area. 91 is as high as most gas stations carry. I think there are a few places with 93 but I don't go out of my way to get it. It runs just fine on 91

So many threads about putting gas into this car. READ the manual, SEARCH the forums, before asking something that's been gone over so many times.

pr086 10-10-2012 12:43 PM

just curious because it's the FIRST tank, and the ECU is learning and adapting.

sajonf 10-10-2012 12:44 PM

once again, don't worry about it and drive the car

Yeah because there's nobody on the internet qualified to make posts that make any sense.....

Synack 10-10-2012 12:56 PM

Yes it will pull timing. But it is more prone to knock and you shouldn't do it. If you accidentally do 87 then use Octane booster to even it out or just drive less harsh than you normally do. It won't be the end of the world but don't you dare go drag racing with it.

3 days after I got my car the salesman told me the tech's put 83 because there idiots. XD put 83 won't hurt the engine.

If you are truly worried about your first tank syphon it out into a few 5 gallon gas tanks and use it in another vehicle and fuel up on premium. Easy fix.

Alot of our members here have stated that they received regular gas in their 1st tank and none have reported any problems due to it.
