SOUND DEADENING
Has anyone had their headliner down yet? If so, is there any type of sound deadening on the under side of the roof panel? I had an acorn drop on the roof of mine the other day and it made enough noise that I thought it was a billiard ball. Hard rain also sounded like hail. I'm thinking there isn't much if any at all.

Nope. None

Where do you think all that light weight came from? Been down a gravel road yet? Not pretty.

this thread is old... but after the sand this winter, holy crap. I hear every grain of salt! Annoying to hear but really made me think about how much was dropped for that light weight. Scary to think about but awesome at the same time.

You gain the fun and lose the quietness

I pulled my carpet today. Not much there either.

Is Anyone Thinking About Adding Sound Deadening Material? The Extra Weight Is Not Appealing, But Driving On The Highway, I Struggle With Phone Conversations Using Bluetooth. Best FIx? So Far, It's A One Ounce Cellphone Handsfree Headset (Corded). Not Sure If Some MLV Behind The BRZ Microphone Would Help With The Bluetooth...
I Will Not Be Doing The Following To The BRZ, But In Case The Noise Bothers You, Here Is A Light Weight Improvement Plan. Four Rain Drops, It's 25% Roof Coverage With Second Skin To Break Resonance. For Gravel, It's 25% Wheel well Coverage With Second Skin To Break resonance. That's It. I Really Do Not Want To Pull open Door Panels Or Lift Interior And Carpet, Just To add Weight To The Car With An Unbroken Layer Of MLV. Thoughts? |
