Algebra: BRZ + 555 = _____

A: AWESOME.

So, yesterday I went on a charity drive, Driven with Purpose.

http://www.drivenwithpurpose.org/

It's a cancer charity in its first year. They raised over $3K which I think is a pretty good job for a first time event with little publicity. I hope they get more next year.

It covered over 300 miles and ran for over 6 hours (the length of a chemo treatment). Trophies were given for closest to official time, closest to official distance, best costume/theme, and best use of "survivor pink".

It was heavy on Infinitis and Nissans since it was started on the G forums, but I hope it spreads to more car forums in the future. There was a white FR-S from Accelerated Performance (not a shop car), along with my BRZ, a ZR-1, a GT-R, and a host G35/37s, 300/350/370Zs, and a couple other miscellaneous cars. The Misc cars took the bulk of the trophies too. :)

The best part was that part of the route covered Ohio's St Rt 555, A.K.A. The Triple Nickel. This is Ohio's "Tail of the Dragon". Sharp, banked turns, blind crests, and a 55mph speed limit mean it's a blast to drive, but can catch out the unwary.

Ohio 555, The Triple Nickel. Explore it north and south from this point to check it out. We drove the whole road.

The BRZ was fantastic on this road. It hugged every curve, and even though I left it in VSC Sport mode to give me a safety net, I barely even engaged it. I chased down a Turbo-charged G35 that got a head start on me due to a bathroom break, and got a point-by from him. But I took a wrong turn and end up behind him again. I stayed behind after that so I didn't over drive the road. A funny moment came when a local in a Pontiac G6 wound up on our tail. He stuck with us pretty good until we decided to push a bit more and gap him because we could.

I really wish I was behind the ZR1 when we hit 555. That would have been a great car to hunt down.

But this was precisely the road I wanted to take my BRZ down, and the car handled it flawlessly. It was everything I expected and more. I'm very happy I got my BRZ. :D

On 555, I could see that. :) I would have loved to see the 555 Impreza on St RT 555.

Yep, I was expecting to see a 555-liveried BRZ. Sounds like you had a lot of fun!

I think the real awesome here is that you represented the BRZ forum at a charity event. I just did one recently, entire event raised $66k including the running event. People should do this more often, you have fun, meet other like-minded people and raise money for a good cause.

Not to mention have a fun time on great roads. :D

It's an excuse to get out and drive, and you help a charity at the same time. And it's tax deductable.
