Help: Pecan Stains Under Clear Coat

hey everyone,

so i had parked under a pecan tree and noticed a few brown stains on my bumper and hood from pecans falling onto the car (damn squirrels). the stains have faded a lot on the hood. however, the bumper seems to hold on to the stains a lot better and haven't changed in appearance since getting them about 2-3 weeks ago. i'm guessing it has something to do with it being plastic vs metal. anyways, i consulted the dealership about the stains, but they informed me that the stains have settled under the clear coat. is there anything i can do about this? or am i just SOL? :sigh: would i have to approach this with rubbing compound or something?

any help is appreciated. i'll try and post photos of the stains tomorrow for you guys to see.

Can't help with your staining problem, but heed this warning...This is going to sound nutty (haha) but watch out parking under those trees. I was slowly driving through our neighborhood a few weeks ago and a damn squirrel tossed an acorn out of a tree. It hit the hood about 3 inches from the edge up by the windshield and actually put a dent in my hood. :mad0260: Yeah. A squirrel threw an acorn at my car and dented my hood. I tried the old hair dryer and compressed air trick and that helped a little, but you can still see the dent. Probably gonna have one of those paintless dent repair places fix it. Damn tree rats...:mad0259:

Pictures please, If they did stain the clear coat then no amount of polishing will help you and you would subsequently need a repaint.
