Hey, that's false advertising! Another nice way to personalize your car.

Copycat! But seriously, it looks good and it's cheap and easy.

not usually a fan of black wheels but these look nice, and way better than the two tone

PMok 10-07-2012 02:46 PM

very nice. if I do that and some spacers, I might be able to avoid justifying new wheels altogether. :D

WhiteFR-S 10-07-2012 02:55 PM

spacers to just push the wheels out some? Is that just for looks?

PMok 10-07-2012 03:06 PM

yeah for the looks and you will also get a wider track which could help with handling/grip. The "right" way to do it is with wider wheels and lower offset of course.

So how did you do your rims? Tape off the tire and just spray them (off the car of course)? I have never used that stuff.

WhiteFR-S 10-08-2012 09:49 PM

got plasti dip black at lowes, took off the wheels and sprayed them with about 5 coats with the tires still on. i used index cards around the rim so i didnt get any on the tire. there are a bunch of videos on youtube. just search for plasti dip wheels. very easy

Longhorn248 10-08-2012 11:28 PM

That actually looks pretty good. Nice job.

Personalty I am not into pastie dipping, especially on a new car. I realize the befits of it (not being permanent), but I could never do it to my current car. Powder coat or nothing for me. BUT its does look good though and i'm glad you happy with it!:coolpics:

You put this on the calipers too? Are you worried about it melting or lighting on fire? What kind of heat tolerance?
