I was watching a Scion commercial for their new RS series and I saw a morphed FRS, spotted at the start of the video.

Also I found this video of new photos of the car.

Just posted in case anyone was interested.

Well first off, Welcome!

That 2nd video is of pics we already have on the site but thanks for the contribution! That first video is funny and that first car definitely looks like the FR-S but those hoodpins are atrocious.

RRnold 09-29-2011 10:15 PM

It's the soapbox FR-S in the 1st vid and the 2nd vid is just a slideshow from the NYIAS.

btw, welcome! :happy0180:

Men! That Scion interior looks like crap!

You see that is one of the things that makes me hope scion changes. White, just white as a color and it has to be a special edition? I love the performance aspects that the FRS is trying to target but at least make it look good in standard form.

Is this the first time we've seen the FR-S with clear windows!? :confused0068:

I downloaded the video and put it through my editing suite to try and catch as much detail from the inside as possible.

Its then i noticed over the next 6 frames that the concept has ONE SEAT you can clearly see in the middle.

Im a bit disappointed that all this time its essentially been a rolling bodyshell and underneath has nothing from the final production car :( I wonder if this is the same for the Concept II?

As RRnold mentioned, it's the soapbox car. Not the real concept. Would have been cool to see the real one with the clear windows, if there was anything inside.

madfast 10-01-2011 01:37 PM

i saw the real one, there was nothing inside. just black cardboard or whatever. what you see in the "making of" video is what you get, an empty shell.

Streetice 10-02-2011 02:10 AM

Leeky Look closer you'll see its a fake and it half the size of the real one.
think of a really cool looking go-kart.

A really cool looking go-kart, minus the engine

Shhh, I wanted to see how far he would go thinking it was the concept with clear windows! ;) :bellyroll:

I even posted the link to the build too...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh whoops :bonk:

I didnt see you mention it was the soapbox car and from the angle the video is shot it looked in the correct proportions :respekt:

no_name 10-04-2011 10:35 AM

I'm not sure if it's the soap box car, as it looks more realistically proportioned, but the wheels are definitely cardboard (2 seconds in)
