GReddy air intake question

I have the new GReddy intake on order and am wondering if anyone has seen one in person or installed one? I am just asking to see if it was the snorkel connection on it or not. GReddy's website shows it two different ways. Thanks in advance guys.

The Greddy is the same as the aFe Takeda intake, but without the connection for the sound tube. The Takeda has the connector for it, but it's not drilled out. I believe instructions for both involve removing the stock snorkel.

Ok. Thanks. Is it difficult to remove? I'm kinda new to all these mods. :D

I haven't installed my Takeda yet, but it doesn't look too bad. Some have been able to remove just the top rubber strip and have enough room to pull it out from there. The instructions state to remove the body clips on the left side of the bumper and partially pull one side of the bumper out.

I may rethink the GReddy. Not sure I want to tackle taking the tube out if I have to remove part of the bumper. I may look at the Takada and keep the tube.

I think you're confusing things. There is the snorkel, which is located in the front bumper, and the sound tube, which is the tube coming off your intake and piping intake noise into the cabin. Most aftermarket intakes recommend removal of the snorkel. The sound tube is optional on most. The Greddy does not have a connector for the sound tube. The Takeda does, but it is not drilled out. If you don't want the sound tube, you can connect the stock sound tube to it or remove it completely and plug it per the DIY post. If you want it, you just drill out the sound tube connector on the intake.

I may have them confused. I'm referring to the tube that is on the left of the factory intake opposite the air box if you are facing the car from the front. Which is that?

That is the sound tube.

Let me ask this. What would be the best and easiest to installed without many or any mods? Like I said I'm new at some of this stuff. I'm good with tools just haven't worked on engines much. ;)

Best and easiest mods now are to just get a panel filter and an Ecutek tune. I already had my intake ordered so I'll install it, but if I didn't, I would have just done the panel filter. You can also get an exhaust if you want some more noise with some gains, but the tune will give you the most bang for your buck.

So Greddy did change their design then. In all the original pics of the intake, the sound tube connection was not there. aFe makes the intake for Greddy though so it makes sense to keep everything the same and just change the sticker.
