Yo chano when you coming down again.

You be hiding! Good to see you're alive, Dion! I was thinking about you recently, wondering what you've been up to. I'm seriously contemplating moving to Sacramento, most likely, in a year, but I'm somewhat open to other places. Just gotta save some money, clean up my resume, and be confident that I can find a job quickly that can pay for the car and rent, plus food, although I've changed my eating habits and don't need tons of money for food (Paleo diet). I have friends in Sacramento and family in northern California and San Diego, so I have options.

Anyways, I will probably drive through there late next summer. I plan on visiting friends in New York late May. We will see what happens! Maybe I'll be down sooner just for fun. I had a blast last time and have pretty much hated being back in Alaska since then. You spoiled me! hahaha

Looks sweet w/ STi wheels!

Looks like a great cruise to Eklutna, too! I wanna go on these cruises. Where do I sign up?!

Also, how'd they take that picture? That's a sweet point of view/perspective.

Thanks! You can either possibly join Alaska Tuner Catalog group on Facebook or the AKIC Chapter on NASIOC. Are you on NASIOC? They've been putting together a bunch of cruises the last few months. There's almost always a meet at Tikahtnu Commons near Lowe's on Friday and Saturday nights. I don't always go, but since it's so close to my house I do make occasional appearances. I don't break a schedule to attend.

I friend took the pic from his car. Example:

Sounds awesome! Great pictures!

I'll go over to NASIOC. Thanks for the info and also the photo technique. Very cool!

Military guy named Clark. I haven't seen him hardly because he's been super busy with work and school, which is a shame since he only lives a few streets over from me.

My buddy Rob recently picked up a GBS Premium. So now I know three in Alaska!

How are you enjoying your car?

12k miles and still in love! My Impreza feels sooo sloppy now, not looking forward to a winter of commuting in it, but the Valley roads are still dry and a blast to drive, so I'm still getting wheel time in the BRZ.
Came back to these forums to look at what I can do for the BRZ this winter-- maybe exhaust/tune, maybe tires/wheels/suspension, or the STi body kit. Dunno yet, maybe all three! :D

Hopefully I can overcome some serious social phobias and show up at some AutoX events next summer-- I really want to learn to drive the car right at its limits, stuff you shouldn't do on the roads. Looks like so much fun!

How about you? Bored yet, considering something new for 2014?

~Cheers!

It's funny, I push myself to be sociable, but I'm very much a solo warrior. However, I do extend myself to hangout with people one-on-one or in small groups if you like to just cruise. I have a bunch of different fun little routes that aren't dangerous, but will bring your car to life!

I'm too in love with the car to consider anything else! That's a first. The only thing that would make me sell it is my plans to move and my hatred for Alaska outweighing my ability to keep car payments and other responsibilities. I'm cutting back on my "fun funds" to focus on paying the car down, bills and saving up to most likely move to the Lower 48 in a year. I'll be 30 and my time in Alaska has really begun to run its course.

That being said, I have some big surprises I'm working on that will be happening soon. Just trying to get the projects off the ground has been tough. I spent a lot of time and energy working on getting ready for winter, plus focusing on my health since I've been sick for a year. All is much, much better now. I have some exhaust plans in the works. I may or may not get some aero pieces. I already have stickers and emblems ready to go. I'm deciding on whether I want to keep these STI BBS or get the BRZ STI-replica ASGA Spirit wheels instead. I like the stance I have with these 15mm spacer adapters, but part of me feels like I'm kind of tacky or copping out for having adapted hubs/wheels. In my quest for an "OEM look" I'm thinking I need to give them up... You know what I mean? It gets deep. haha

I also have my stereo now that I need installed, sub and amp that I need to get up here and looking at an Integrity Concepts box for the 10" shallow sub, customized.

Which exhaust are you looking at? I can help with shipping through my company. Most things are free if under 100lbs. The most anyone paid was $80 for 9 wheels on a pallet. Reasonable, right?

Oh yeah, and I pre-order the Helix-version of the TOM'S clear lens tail lights months ago. The Depo-manufactured TOM'S are being released now, so the Helix ones will be allowed to ship soon. I saved about $150 by not getting the Depo TOM'S because I didn't want the logo on the lens.

My plan was to go with Perrin's resonated cat-back exhaust (I'm partial to Oregon companies).
Eibach coils if I decide to lower it.
Wheels are giving me fits, though-- satin black or brushed alloy? Spoke or mesh? Meh. Too many choices! Whatever I choose, I'll get tires from my company (Costco, so Bridgestone or Michelin).
Other than that, just Grimmspeed's hood struts and maybe an amp for this year.

My time up here is limited, too. Just bought a house and planned on staying 10 more years, but I just can't stand the commute much longer. My back has degenerated to the point I just about need a cane to walk-- 85 miles a day in my car is just too much. Time to move back to Oregon.

The only car I'd consider trading my BRZ in for would be a true successor to the Supra, but until we hear more, I'm not holding my breath.
