Oil change then new worrisome noise
Changed oil (0w-30 cuz it was in the 5 qt jug at Walmart) and everything went smoothly and the engine was seriously quiet.
Then.... Much more noticeable clicking... Seems like the DI clicking but way louder. Listen to this... Sound changes a few seconds into the video: http://s41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...E6809F42ED.mp4 http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...E6809F42ED.jpg |

Sounds like my car without an oil change. I just got my BRZ 2 weeks ago and have 400 miles on it.
I think I just never noticed how loud the DI was while the car is warming up at idle
Our BRZ just starting making a similar sound. We did the oil change a couple thousand miles ago. We have an appointment monday to have Subaru look at it.
I noticed this in my car a while ago but thought nothing of it. I'm pretty sure this is considered "normal" but it doesn't hurt to ask.
It honestly sounds normal to me. Maybe I'm just used to the injector noise though after owning a WRX for 10 years.
Sounds similar to my issue except mine has less rattle and more tap, not diagnosed yet and it started on factory fill, also 0W-20 is same price, pre-order to store next time.
...I just had a shiver, not only did I admit to but also recommended wally world, the mayans might be onto something |

I noticed you said 5qt jug. These motors take more than 5 quarts of oil if you drain it all.
I'd say that's valve train noise. If this happened coinciding with an oil change, I might worry something wasn't getting oiled properly. Could be a valve clearance off, though. Check your oil fill and add oil if you need it. If it persists and is out of the ordinary, bring it dealer. That's the nice thing about a warranty.
why not use the correct oil? and proper amount?
