The Curse of the FR-S claims another

So I got backed into in a parking lot......

Here it is as it stands now...being fixed!

http://i478.photobucket.com/albums/r...k/IMG_2532.jpg

as you can see, all cosmetic damage to the bumber and tail light. My first "incident" in years...and it happens with a 3 month old car!

itisthumper 10-02-2012 04:18 PM

Sucks to hear. Would the back end be more or less of a pain to fix in such case? Wondering if I should reverse park or not.

I guess the only good thing to say is 3 months old is a lot better than if it were only 3 days or 3 hours old.

AX_FRS 10-02-2012 04:30 PM

that's sad. At least it's only cosmetic, no need to worry about damage to the structure of the car.

ah man that sucks !

did the perp at least fess up?

Strategic choice of parking spot can help to minimize the chances of parking lot incidents e.g. park at the farthest corner of the lot and try to choose end spots. Door dings can be minimized by parking next to other nice cars.

I found parking next to small 4-door cars minimizes this the most... Small doors :)

No the perp didn't

Yeah my choice of spots was a bad one...right in front of a Starbucks, where cars are constantly coming and going!

I'm still surprised by the idiots that can actually get a Drivers license.
Some people don't deserve to drive.

That sucks!

Sigh-on-Rice 10-02-2012 05:09 PM

It's so sad that someone would hit someone else's car that bad and just leave...
Sorry that it happened.

Learning the hard way ftl. Hopefully your share of bad parking lot karma is out of the way now. Another tip I just thought of - loose shopping carts prey on new cars :-O

Gearbanger 10-02-2012 05:47 PM

That killer stuff.

Shagaliscious 10-02-2012 05:55 PM

Sorry to hear about this. Was it just the bumper & taillight? It looks like it took the damage pretty well.

_hollywood 10-02-2012 06:20 PM

I have found thru my own research that when i purposely park away from everything, cars are magnetically attracted to my car.

Best of luck with the repair looks to be a pretty straight forward fix.
