Exhaust build up/ burning oil

Anyone else notice that there's is alot of black build up from the exhaust?
basically like what you would see from a car burning oil.
I noticed it from before that the tips were always dirty, now with the SRT exhaust I notice it way more cause after few days of driving tips are starting to go black until I wipe them down.

To me generally it means the car is burning oil, Im starting to monitor my oil consumption between every tank up.

Anyone else notice the same?

mmm I will keep note of this and report back incase anything is happening. It could be the engine "breaking it" kind of deposits that are coming out. Have you had an oil change yet to help clean up the liquids inside of your engine?

It's just unburnt fuel... I'm certain that these cars run a little on the rich side due to the high compression to prevent knock. Also due to the SRT exhaust flowing a million times better than stock more of the unburnt fuel residue is getting back to the tips.

^ yup - unburnt fuel. if you have the FRS headerback, you only have one cat now, making the unburnt fuel even more 'unburnt' LOL (I have seen many dyno charts of stock cars that show AFR's that are quite rich)

Note your oil level right after an oil change and then right before the next oil change. I bet you are burning no oil or next to no oil.

Mine gets black after a while. Im running the SRT header back with a high flow cat. I need to get around to doing some logs for Visconti, I might be running a bit rich.

hey did you ever find out if you were running very rich up top? mine tips are getting black after only a few drives now and has been that way all winter, and if I leave them unattended they will turn completely black. Same for you?

thanks

Yea, I've done some logs and he said it looks good. I should be getting my AFR gauge in soon to monitor it a bit better.

Mine still get black, but it doesn't happen as fast as it used to. I haven't washed the car in about two weeks and they are only slightly dirty. I think it may have something to do with the high flow cat.

My vehicle does that as well. Seems quicker than other cars I've owned but there's no excessive smoke or dreaded CEL so I guess it's ok.
