Exhaust Type

Can i get everyone to use the poll on link thread instead of this cuz i couldnt edit the polls here..

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18686

I've talked to my friend Pete who owns WORKS evo and we both are trying to come up with a few type of exhaust for the FRS/BRZ market.. what type of exhaust are owners looking for? single muffler, dual muffler, stealth, cat-back or axle back.. I know someone of the owners have different preference due to style, sound, best bang for the buck and of course how much it will put a dent in your wallet

Also while i was there on saturday we gutted open the stock exhaust and it doesnt have any packing inside, its pretty much all chambers and the outlets ran from end to end just like the evo's exhaust so we are thinking of making a stealth exhaust where we will reroute the internals of the stock exhaust so you can keep the stock look but will raise the hp and the tone..

Would love to see pics of the stock internals so I know what you're talking about. I'd be interested in a gutted stock unit but kind of like to know what kind of rerouting would be involved.

I have a header back, you should include that in your poll.

Yeah, the most obvious answer isn't there.

Header back isn't the most obvious for us Cali folks. Unfortunately.

But I would add a muffler delete option, with single and dual exits.

Ill get the picture that Pete took of the internal but we would reroute the pipes inside.. ive attached a picture of an Evo exhaust looks like ours from the inside meaning it doesnt have any packing just chambers to keep noise down but ours is so choked down.. so we are rerouting the exhaust flow so that i doesnt have to go through all the chambers before exiting

Red is stock flow and Yellow is what was done and it gave the car HP and growl.. but retaining the stock "sleeper" look

So do you think I could just get a big-ass drill bit and bore right through the center?

phenom86 10-01-2012 01:09 PM

If you guys want muffler delete we can actually get that one done, one or two out.. just message me

I kind of find a little fault in your poll options. You have types AND descriptions.

You can have a stealth axle back or a stealth cat-back.
You can have a cat-back with dual or single muffler/tip.
Same for the axle back.
Everything can be stealth.

no you cant, you need to open it up and add plates and new pipes.. there are 4 chambers in the muffler, attached is a rough drawing of our muffler inside and how the air goes through it, it has to go through holes in the plate through the chambers before going out of the pipes..

Bummer, but thanks.
I'm almost tempted to throw on a motorcycle exhaust and see what happens.
