Driving with slippers/flip-flops/sandals/heels

How do you wushu masters do it? What is the sekrit? :iono:

I can never drive properly if i wear anything else other than regular sneakers, skate shoes, running shoes, etc.

Shoes or barefoot

For short distances, i can drive with slippers/flip flops/sandals. I put more pressure on clutch with ball of foot to keep the shoe on. I will not drive with those on though for long distances, but i have. Yes its different, but it can be done.

Dont know how the ladies drive with heels though!:iono:

I drive usually through the summer with flip-flops, full shoes when I really need to drive it, never had any issues.

Just like everything else, you will get used to it.

Sandals that strap around the heel - no problem. Just like a thin shoe. Flip flops? You put you foot flat down in front of the pedals, slide your feet backwards until they are out of the flip flops, then use your feet to tuck them under the drivers seat and drive barefoot. Those are your only options. Make sure feet are dry.

I don't have feet... I use my stubs. I am very offended by this thread.

I wear flip-flops 8 months of the year here in Texas, and I like them to be a half size too big to keep me from stubbing my toe.. The trick is to lift your heal first, then release the pedal. Always use the ball of your foot to press the petal.

I kick my flip flips off and drive barefoot. I have more control that way.

NMMI89 10-01-2012 12:43 PM

Flip flops always. Not a problem with an AT

jadewbj 10-01-2012 01:07 PM

I drive short distances in flip flops all the time but never spiritedly.

i always drive with flip flops. I actually like driving with them more than normal shoes

For the best driving experience

1. Barefoot
2. Vibram Five Finger shoes
3. Converses

Something about driving stick/clutch with converses feels so old school. They aren't bad for heal-toeing either.
