JoeBoxer 10-01-2012 02:46 AM

Sorry not trying to make a competition out of it i know some or your coilovers alone are almost as much as what i've spent. I know i'm on the lower end of lots of your builds i'm very happy with my car and build just curious as to what other people are spending you don't have to break it down like i did. It didn't seem that bad until i started adding it all up lol.

stevo_12v 10-01-2012 11:36 AM

Over 9,000.. No seriously

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/over9000.gif

EDIT: Just calculated it. $10.2k so far spent on FUN. Still have to get the exhaust.. and BeatRUSH MCB

NOHOME 10-01-2012 11:49 AM

Snow tires and steel rims. $1200.

One of these days I might even wash it. But not likely.

Davyator 10-01-2012 12:11 PM

$35K easily so far...

enjoi23 10-01-2012 12:51 PM

$100.00 on a shift knob, $350.00 ahead of time for Rock's hardbody guard, $120.00 ahead of time for tint, $300.00 for a head unit, and payed the paint guy $250.00 to paint my brakes...and my car hasn't even come in yet. I just have everything set in motion so I can get my work done as soon as possible. No flashing or engine mods until after the 1k break-in!

Man I've been dying to know how that looks (I'm probably going to do the exact same thing), so can you post a picture of how the car looks on steel rims? Did you go with some 16's so you can run more sidewall?

diirk 10-01-2012 01:03 PM

I think I'm at $92

Mudflaps, backup light overlay, license plate frame and tiny convex mirrors.

Although I guess you can add another $300 for HPDE

jadewbj 10-01-2012 01:05 PM

This is a question I never try to figure out and would never post. The wife doesn't seem to notice the money when it is a little here and there but when it is all added up......well.

I've gone overboard on previous cars so my theme for this car is "Bang for the Buck!"

After track tires/wheels and track time...I think i'm almost done lol

xenocharger 10-05-2012 02:18 AM

Just over 6K... and I havent even recieved my FRS yet, just got a bedroom full of parts LOL

_hollywood 10-05-2012 02:28 AM

Nothing, well 4 zipties to mount my front plate after getting pulled over for it, so 3 bucks for a bag of zipties.....

I will be getting a trd air filter and maybe trd springs and just continue to enjoy it, my past experiences modding cars has taught me to only add quality parts, not just mod it for the sake of modding,

Now the supra....thats the real money pit, lol

Calidrifter 10-05-2012 03:27 AM

Like 1200 which includes the HKS intake I just paid for.

Ingen 10-05-2012 08:40 AM

$500.00

Deposit :(

jflogerzi 10-05-2012 02:42 PM

285$ for an Air intake. But their will be more to come.

seven 10-14-2012 08:49 AM

I have en excel spreadsheet of ALL planned mods... where I plan to buy from... what the prices are, etc... $14k in mods... This does include the AVO turbo kit and 3 sets of wheels however (track, street, winter). If I cut that down to one set and no turbo kit... probably more like $7500

JDMenrique 10-14-2012 09:19 AM

Literally $31 worth of gas

TylerLieberman 10-14-2012 11:52 AM

I don't even have mine yet...

Bride Low Max Seats
Takata Harnesses
6" bubble knob
TF Turn Spin Knob
Personal Neo Eagle Steering Wheel

Luckily, I've had some awesome support from a few guys at Bulletproof Automotive thus far and have managed to save some money because of that.

Don't know the exact, but I'm pretty sure I'm sitting right at 2k or so. Still need brackets, steering hub & quick-tilt system, along with wheels/tires, and Stance coilovers. Trying to get everything I need prior to getting the car so I can pick it up, swap it all out, then take it out to the next event.

ipothas 10-14-2012 11:54 AM

How in the hell do you guys have so much cash to throw around?! Lol

SalM 10-14-2012 12:49 PM

One year of hostile fire pay +hazardous duty pay +family separation pay + tax free = no debut and some modding money

Yeah, being deployed for a 6-8 months in the middle of the ocean does the same thing. Cant spent the money, forced to save it.

anyway, money spent on mods, about $50 so far for a Perrin Drop-in filter. Planning on getting Opti-Guard (not really a mod..but..its money spent on the car) really soon, which will cost me about $700 it seems.

Tint : $225
Carsmo spoiler : $375
Perrin catback : $900 (w/install)

My assumption is that most people dont put much money down on their deposit for the car and therefore able to keep more money in the pocket with longer payments

Pete156 10-14-2012 03:28 PM

About $4500

Oh, haven't even got the car yet! What else is a guy going to do during the wait?

Little_Red_FR-S 10-14-2012 04:24 PM

K & N air filter $43.00
Goodyear F1 Asymmetric All-season tires $455.00

ggpaul 10-14-2012 04:26 PM

Hmm

Tinted windows - $160
HID Lights - $80
Debadge and Toyota Emblems - $80
Perrin plate on the toe hook - $100
Invida Exhaust - $680

Prolly gonna go up to $5,000 total. Trying to stay on that budget. Saving up for an NSX and probably going to spend an extra $150,000 on the NSX.

My friend Daniel Song had this NSX + twin turbo. I might do the same exact thing. But we'll see =).
