Every other frs driver thinks my clutch feels different
I have had about 4 others drive my car asking if I did something different with my clutch.
I think mine feels more like a cable clutch where you can feel feedback. You can definitely feel the clutch engaging better. It also feels like it takes more force to push down while the others I have tested kind of feels like you are pushing down on a pillow. I do think it's a little harder to get into to first and second gear though. I looked in the master cylinder reservoir and do have a bit of fine black powder. So are the seals on the master cylinder going or does it sound more like clutch wear. I have over 10k on the car and am pretty hard on it. *************update***** I had my clutch transmission flywheel replaced for starting to grind in 4th. They also replaced the slave cylinder. My car shifts perfectly and feels like the others I have driven. Here is the thread on that fun. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20759 Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |
Don't know what to say... I guess have the dealer diagnose to see if they confirm the issue you feel / see.
I have 5k miles on mine, and I don't feel any issue... I'm pretty firm on the car too, but I wouldn't say I'm 'hard' on the clutch... |
I wonder if they changed suppliers at some point or something. I went to an FR-S/BRZ dyno day and all the other FR-S drivers said that the clutch on my car and the one other BRZ there felt better/stiffer than theirs. We also both had high mileage though and all the FR-S's were newer so maybe it is a mileage thing.

The two manuals I played with were both recent(August) deliveries and had a clutch that I wouldn't call "pillow soft". Perhaps they heard some of the complaints about having a ***** clutch and adjusted it.

Resolution finally. Updated the original post. Had a new tranny clutch and flywheel installed. But I think it was the slave cylinder they replaced that did it.
