Passenger seat not sliding to let people out..

I just noticed today that my passenger seat doesn't slide forward to let people out of the back anymore unless you manually slide it forward before tipping the back forward.

It was working a couple weeks ago, and nothing has been touched on that side of the car recently (had a couple small door dings popped out on the drivers side).

Anyone else having this happen? I'll be calling my dealership tomorrow, just thought I'd see if there was something easy that I'm missing when looking under the seat?

You have your seat incorrectly set to hostage mode, check the slider handle for obstructions and gremlins.

Hahahaha! I looked around and couldn't see or feel anything in the way. Anything particular I should be looking for?

I think mine is the same.

Mine does this to the drivers side, I thought they were just pulling it wrong but when i tried it, it wouldnt let me push the seat forward either. Im going to give Toyota a call.

Push the seat back forward until full tilt while pulling the escape cord.

^^ I had tried that, wasn't the issue.

I actually just fixed it, looks like someone sitting in the passenger seat stepped on the handle to slide the seat forward/backwards and bent the mechanism down a bit so it wouldn't fully release when the back was tilted. I just pulled up on it enough to bend it back and now it works great.

Drivers seat doesn't slide forward when tilted, but the passenger does.

so gremlins?

I've found the best way to avoid this is to not torture people by putting them in the back seat. Seriously though, odd that someone bent that handle. Will keep that in mind for future coupe issues concerning that.

^^ Haha! I actually found it trying to put something in the back seat, not someone. I've had four people in mine on a couple occasions and they weren't too uncomfortable at all in the back, mind you it was only a 5 minute drive to get lunch :D
