Setting adjustable sway bar links
So i just got adjustbale front sway bar links i have been looking around how how i sould set them and what characteristics will change from long to short.car is not a DD mostly just an autocross car.

the link should be perfectly perpendicular to the sway bar (i.e. bolts not on funny angles) when the suspension is loaded with the car on the ground.

You want the endlinks to just line up with the swaybar holes with the car on the ground. The idea is to remove preload from the system.

There is no performance gain from being long or short it is more about clearance etc when cars are at different heights. The fact is even if longer or shorter the lever rate and deflection of the sway bar are the same we have tested this many times on our deflection testing machine.
The other advantage of the links is that you can make sure there is no preload from side to side . When fitting the bar both sides should fit with no load just straight in the hole with ease. |
