Perrin Pulley and Exhaust

I got my Perrin Lightweight pulley, and the Perrin cat back none resonated exhaust. It feels more responsive, it could be a little louder. Nice quaulity parts. I saved 4lbs on the pulley, and 8.15lbs from the cat back. My over pipe and front HFC pipe is coming in a couple days.

How does it feel with that pulley? Does that void the warranty? Either way, I like your modifications, notice any power increases?

It feels like better throttle response.

Running the same Perrin parts.. The catback is worth every penny in my opinion.

Did you have your car on a dyno after the parts and E85 tune?

Yeah, on a horribly calibrated Mustang dyno (entered 3100lbs as curb weight). I want to find a dynojet to run. I also need to run two tanks of e85 to make sure I'm running 100% e85 and not with a 93 octane mix. I found my car putting out more and more power after 4 runs.. To summarize, the results were subpar and illegitimate imho.

On my drive back to Maryland (from Connecticut), I did bursts from 60-100mph.. And I have to say, on e85 or on a well-calibrated Visconti Stage 1 tune, it's a beast. Once I have my tires fully broken in, I'll do some 0-60 runs for the forum on stage 1 and e85. Hitting 62mph in 2nd gear helps, but the tires will help my 0-60ft launch.

Cool, let me know how it works out.

Granted, it's tempered with the above info, but what did it kick out for peak HP / torque?

TyperRspec789 09-25-2012 11:43 PM

175whp on mustang dyno w/ pretty much no torque dip. I the first run was 168whp, then it just kept creeping up. Apparently, even just a little bit of regular fuel will alter the ethanol content dramatically.

To elaborate exactly what I did, I had Visconti do all the flashing/tuning on the dyno. We ran stock for 2 runs, stage 1 for ~4 runs, and e85 for maybe another 4 runs. All in a row so my motor was a bit hot. The e85 tune wasn't given justice on its runs- it hauls in 6th gear... I texted Visconti on my way back to MD that it made me not want to supercharge my car- it's a great product.

My car is actually why he released tunes for the Injen intake lol.

Nice yeah I'm bummed switching back over to gas tomorrow for a trip to the dealer. Get to go through the changeover process again after. What was your baseline?

TyperRspec789 09-25-2012 11:59 PM

My baseline was like 160whp with bolt ons (stock tune) I think? I only have 2500miles on my car and I haven't done an oil change yet.

They calibrated for 3100lb curb weight and kept that weight so to stay consistent with the other FRS/BRZs. 2800lbs would have yielded more accurate results along with a 4th and 5th (1:1) gear pull(s).

DSTL 09-26-2012 12:02 AM

Thats actually not bad at all. +15 whp on top of your bolt-ons, esp for first fill-up. Sounds like a heartbreaker dyno.
