Dealer Killed my High Beams
so i took my car in to get the DRL's turned off. they informed me i had to get the new ECU which is on backorder so i had to wait... no problem... till that night when i try to use my highbeams. So i take it back in and inform them the high beams dont work. this is the quote on the paperwork " Tech found highbeams to be working normal at this time. 1 pulling lever, 2 turn on the head light had push the lever to hold. so i get the car and the tech comes out and starts to instruct me on how to opperate the high beams. i then have him turn them on and come look. its day time so i guess its hard for him to tell but i can clearly see it is only turning on the DRL's. he then tells me that the DRL's should be on all the time. So i tell him well the high beam lever turns on the DRL's so they are off that is a problem correct. :picard: So i have to take it back in and i recorded this for the service guy...

Wow, dealer fail.
The high-beams on the FRS are tremendously bright. As I've crewed for Enduro teams (who run at night) I can tell our brights are "100 mph" lights. What you have posted in that video is nothing more than your DRL's being activated by your high-beam trigger. If they don't fix this you should email this video to the General Manager. |

When the dealer tries to turn of the DRL in techstrem
With the old ECU, the highbeams are affected. Thats why it was clearly written on the TSB not to attemp to disable the DRL without the new ECU No biggy they just need to enable it with techstream |

One reason I love my local indy repair shop is that they read forums to help resolve problems to find the solution, instead of just throwing out guesses. But being a new car, you'd think the dealer service would have access to more information than a user forum - but I guess not.
