Had good time meeting you guys, hopefully we can get a great turnout like this again. Sorry to breakout early my friend's wife was giving him flack so I had to take him home. The Next though.

Let me know if anyone would be interested in a dyno day. I can my maybe work something out with my turner, maybe another free dyno day depending on If we can get enough cars.

Some of you expressed interest in track days. I will be out in Thunderbolt on Oct 28th (NASANE) and then on Nov 2nd (NJMP) and will be in LRP (SCDA) on Nov 12th.

Let me know if you do a track day this or the next season.

I saw that you registered for Nov 2nd @ NJMP, I think i will have to wait till next year to get going though. Plus that'll give me some time to get new rubber and some new suspension parts.

Thanks!

Use http://www.motorsportreg.com/ to search for events but unfortunately some events aren't in there. You can search by the zip and a radius.

You can also check club web sites. I am a member of and have done events with the following:

http://www.njbmwcca.org/
http://nasane.com/
http://www.scda1.com/

These have event calendars. Most are done with 2012 events. The following year's event schedules are usually posted in spring.

Here are the links to the events I'm going this season:

Oct 28 Thunderbolt: http://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1517

Nov 2 Thunderbolt: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...4#.UIQRDWkztCc

Nov 12th LRP:
http://www.scda1.com/events/detail_by_id/88960581

Hope to see you there!

 The tech inspection starts at around 7am. Will be there shortly after.

Check out the Hyperdrive option on that link. Event attendants (e.g. me;)) can bring a friend to get one classroom and one track session for $60.
I already have one of my friends registered for that. Not sure if I can bring a second guest for Hyperdrive but my guess is they wouldn't mind. I can ask them if you are interested?

See you there!

Depends on the thread left on your tires, the track and how hard you brake.

If your tires are running low on thread then yes I recommend changing them. Otherwise stock tires are fine. I have done 5 track days with them and have plenty of thread left. They are loud and don't have much grip but that is actually a good thing if you are a beginner.

For brakes, just to be safe, I recommend flushing the brake fluid with a high temp fluid (I use Motul 600) and put some basic racing pads (Ferodo DS2500?) on the front brakes (oem pads are fine on the back). Just FYI, an experienced racer friend of mine took a bone stock FR-S (no pad or tire change) to the track (NJMP Lightning) and it took 4 track sessions until the brakes started fading terribly.

:w00t:

Haven't done lead follow before. In the HPDE, you have an instructor with you in the car. He teaches you the proper line and technique while you drive. You run at your own pace with others at your level on the track. Each driving session lasts 20-25 mins. Passing is only allowed on the straights and a point-by is required (see http://www.nasaproracing.com/hpde/passing.html).

Hey guys nice meeting everybody this weekend!

It was a great turn out and the pix look amazing!

is the facebook link working for anyone?

FISHEK I'm definitely interested in a track for next season. I live in the area so we can definitely plan a meet for anybody that is interested. They also have go-kart days and endurance races, a lot of cool stuff for anyone that is interested.

They came out great though. With the amount of lighting from the street lamp, we did pretty well.

chutrain 10-23-2012 04:21 PM

Bear Mountain runs I did with the E30 M3 crew years back. Something for us to look forward to when things warm up.
