New to the area!
Hey everyone I just moved up to Tacoma. I'm originally from New Mexico and came out here because of work. I have my new Asphalt FR-S and would like to check out any other rides out there that are modified just to get ideas in my head. I'm also just looking to meet new people since I really don't know anyone out here.
I have the weekends off for the time being and if anyone wants to go for a cruise or meet up and talk cars let me know! I will try to attend any events in the area so I can introduce myself. For the time being, I have been cruising around a lot trying to get to know the area and see some cool stuff outdoors before the weather takes a turn. If anyone local knows of some really awesome driving roads or hiking trails I would appreciate the info! -Trevor |
Step 1) Go to 1st Mega NW Meet next Sunday
Step 2) Hold a BIG sign with your name on it just kidding. but surely go to the meetup, it's less than an hour drive for you. the northwest is a great place to be for great driving roads. i'm sure there are plenty of roads the locals prefer. anyways, welcome to the NW! |
Welcome to the area. I am just over in University Place.
Driving or hiking - hit up Hwy 410 up into the Mt. Rainier National Forest. The drive over the pass into Eastern Wa is always fun, and there are plenty of hiking spots along the way. Have a look at any of these maps. They have outlined the best twisties in the area. South Cascades North Cascades Olympic Peninsula East |
^ usually where I like to go

Welcome Mickey! I used to live in Tacoma... graduated high school there before coming back to Portland.
Definitely check out the NW Owners topic, too: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6070 I added you to the list, but I don't know when you received your car so I just threw you at the bottom of September. Post up the date that your car was delivered and I will move you to the right place. I hope you can make it to the NW Mega Meet! |
Thanks for all the info everyone! One question for you all since I'm pretty unfamiliar with the weather out here; what do you all do for corrosion prevention? Has anyone done anything specific for their FR-S/BRZ?
|
I don't worry about corrosion. We don't use salt on the roads during the winter.
|
Its mostly rain here. Nothing to worry bout. Unless you got a cia.
Edit- cai |
Welcome!! Im always at the seatac/tukwila area for work sp if you see my asphalt FRS dont be a stranger :) also you should join us for the meet.
|
I'm planning to attend the meet. When are you all from the Tacoma area headed out? Maybe we can cruise together on the way down south.
|
There is a topic for the Seattle guys who are gonna meet... head here:
