trunk wont unlatch

Well now I'm on problem #14 (13 if you do not count the chirp as a problem). I went out to the store yesterday (luckily didn't buy a ton of groceries and came outside and tried to open the trunk with the remote to no avail. I figured it was just in the key or the receiver in the car, so I opened the door and tried the button on the console... still no luck.

I actually had to climb into the trunk after pulling the seats down and pull the emergency latch in order to get it to open. Anyone else have this problem? I have to take it in still to get the rear tail light condensation fixed, along with what I believe is a faulty TPMS sensor (I have all my tires at 35psi, and my low tire light constantly stays on).

I'm not mad about purchasing the car, or the issues. i'm just tired of wasting my time/money on fixing this. I had a wedding I had to go to yesterday, and taking the time to try and fix the trunk issue and also trying to figure out why the inside of my windshield is always covered with water in the morning, it's just frustrating when you have things to do.

You most likely hit the trunk valet button on the driver's side. You can open the trunk with the key and push the button. This is all explained in the owner's manual.

Hah! Don't feel bad its pretty common and its 2 of the first 5 "Stupid Things" done with the 86 when the 1st86 group started receiving their cars. We need to revive and complete that thread!

Same thing happened when I got the car, the mechanic that did the initial inspection couldn't figure it out. Had to tell him what I had read on the forums and we got it figured out lol

I hit the trunk lock button with some golf clubs, took a second to figure out what had happened (but at least I'd seen the button previously). Key is kind of a pain to get in - only knew where the hole was because of this forum. :party0030:

also there's a keyhole on the trunk itself that will unlock it manually-on the underside of the top part.

It's why washing machines come with warning labels not to place children into them...
