CEL & TC lights on/off
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had this particular issue.
I hit 2,545 miles and while at a light the car's Traction Control and Check engine light turned on, car still drove smoothly. I went home parked it for a couple hours. Started it and drove about 5 miles, Traction Light turned off, but the CEL remained on. Parked it for a few more hours then drove later in the evening about 5 miles again, parked, ran in the store for 15 minutes, then started the car then the CEL was no longer on. I have an appointment with the dealership tomorrow. Should I still take it in? or wait for it to happen again? Will they be able to pull the code when the car "reset" itself? Thanks for any input you guys may have. |

Did you notice any rpm drop at idle or shaking like the car was about to stall? I had the CEL and TC light go on and then on the way to the dealer to drop it off, the TC light went off but the CEL remained on and they had to replace the cam gear sensor. I'd ask the dealer if they can still read the code now that the light is off.

SO just an update, went to the dealer. They pulled a Cam sensor code, service rep, couldn't specifically say what. They need to call Toyota and speak to them on what needs to be done, and what tests need to be run while on the phone with Toyota.

SO after about 3 hours at the dealership, they said to drive it around and see if it turns on again. I was told that they (toyota) are still "investigating" what the next step is. Also, that they need to take a picture of the light on.

Official Fix as of 09/24/2012 for code P0019
So my car pulled a check engine light and traction control light today for the second time in 5 days. Took it to the dealership, pulled the code, new ECU is on it's way. Code cleared, drove home. |
