I have seen documentation that describes it as dual function, keyless entry and TPMS receiver/ecu In addition to page 252 of: http://www.ft86club.com/files/BRZwiringi.pdf

I am a mechanic technician, two receiver are there one for the back and one for the front wheel sensors. They are located near by bumpers for easy access with the wireless signals transmitting from the TPMS.

Bump from the dead. Has anyone every removed this tpms ecu/ receiver? Or cut power to the tpms portion of the unit?

Tried it. Even swapped it out to a Canadian receiver module (no TPMS Canadian model).

I still got a TPMS light on my dash. The TPMS must be integrated deep into the software of the car.
