Counting Down to Frankfurt

from what we've been teased at, the FT-86 II will at least be painted white

and hopefully we'll see the BRZ in the flesh

any ideas or guesses on what else will be shown?

There are a number of threads about Frankfurt already, and some of them may even still be on topic. To respond to your comments, however, I would bet that we will see a repainted FT-86II concept and a revised plexiglass "technology concept" from Subaru. You'll probably have to wait until Tokyo to see the real production cars.

And well to the countdown... its uhm... Two days? lol

Mazda has tweeted the new Miata will be there. Whether that was a typo or not remains to be seen, but I'm excited.

For sure we won't know the specs until Tokyo. I hope 220 PS and 1100 kg or 200 PS and 1000 kg. Whatever, just 5 kg/PS.

"Capping it all will be Toyota’s foray into the sports car market with the FT-86 project. Yes, we will be revealing some more information about the vehicle at Frankfurt."

Cant wait to find out what!

Nice! Finally we can have some real discussions instead of pure speculation.

30.000 € :party0030:

Eh that's not that unrealistic actually, 1100kg is like 2450 pounds, and if that's dry weight or something...and 220PS I think is possible too, since the 2ZZ-GE had 105 hp/L. A little more than that is definitely possible, given this car is direct injected, although we can't be sure about VVTL-i making it back (hopefully they give the car Valvematic which would be even better, especially for top end power). Levi's posts are starting to make sense! lol

Yea, I guarantee the "more information" will be very little in regards to the specs. I'd guess at most they'll reveal dimensions like height, width, length and wheelbase on the production version, and that's if were lucky. Things like weight, and power will be kept quite until tokyo.

Random_Art 09-11-2011 05:08 PM

I have the inside scoop of the more information. It's surprisingly little...

lol I think we all would certainly hope so...
