RPM stick between 3.5 - 4.5
 

I'm sure this has been discussed and I've spent hours searching the forum with no luck...

I broke the 1,000 mile break in (at 1,950) now, but I'm noticing the engine revs get stuck around 3,500 rpm then jump after 4,500 rpm. Can anyone point me to a thread about this discussion or explain here. It doesn't matter if the A/C is on or off. I would think the RPM would be smooth sailing all the way up to 7,000.. it's just not. I don't like the feel of it.

Thx sports I'll check that link out... I just searched youtube and found this video... My car is not accelerating like this... aka "smooth RPM" going up. It's sticking 3.5-4.5.

Could you record a video? Do you mean the gauge itself doesnt move or it feels like the car doesnt move?

I think its the normal dip we all have experienced.

That video is first gear. It will not be noticeable in first gear WOT.

We all have that torque dip and its easily noticeable in 2nd 3rd gears etc...

Yes you are correct, sorry I didn't notice... it's 2nd gear mainly, pretty much when I hit the on-ramp to the interstate. If you all are getting that then I guess it's normal, although I don't like it.

I read through the post you linked and from what I gather some opinions are just tuning but no one actually knows, just opinions.

Getting a intake and tune seems to do a pretty good job. Perrins torque dip after their tune and intake instalation was something like 500-700rpm shorter. Nameless also had some good results with the header setup and that wasnt even tuned.

We still havnt seen a good full I/H/E +tune setup. I have a feeling that will lessen the dip a dam good amount though im sure itll still be there in some form or another.
