Common sense!!

F****** hate people who just don't care or have no respect! Have a small dent in my door! why is that all people don't have that Respect attitude that to be careful not to do something bad that is not yours? huhhhh!!!:mad0259:

I'm always cautious in opening any door of a car I'm coming out off!! I even put my hands in the side that can touch the car beside of any car i use!!

just putting out my madness!! :(

DaJo 09-17-2012 01:39 PM

It'll happen to all of us sooner or later... To alot of people, a car is just a metal box with wheels that get you from point A to point B.

Sorry to hear it happened to you so soon... I'd be choked too...

Yeah there are the ones that are oblivious. I hate people like that. And then there are the jealous haters who do it intentionally. I want to mangle people like that!

I care to other people's car. If i park beside them I make sure that both of our cars are secured in anything that can happen.

well... I'll take care of it soon as I replenish my funds.. get it back to it's brand new look. just hate those kind of people.. ugghhh!!

Did you catch them? If you caught the person who did it, you could of either asked them to pay up without the trouble of the insurance company stepping in as the third-party, or if they're really pissing you off and it is a huge damage, threaten them to settle it with your insurance company.

FSUnoles 09-17-2012 02:05 PM

the best is when you park a good 20 spots from the crowd and you come out and someone parks right next to you. thanks guy

draggin_az 09-17-2012 02:08 PM

i detailed mine yesterday and found a small door ding. thank goodness you can see it if your looking straight on but you can if your looking down the side of it.

worst part about discovering a ding is that you'll notice it every time you look at your car even if it isn't really that noticeable.

you aint lying

i probably stared at for 5mins after seeing it

im like the op, i take really good care of my stuff and take extra care opening my door so i dont ding anyone else even though these cars are kind of a pain to get out of when the door isnt opened all the way.

i even sterotype cars/vans and will not park beside someone if they have kids or its a woman driving. 1. women dont car about cars as much as us and 2. ive seen time and time again women brush their purses up agains other peoples car without a care in the world.

^^^ Agreed.

Down here near where I work there is a super market called Super H Mart, it basically sells all kinds of Asian food. I make sure to park next to the curb and away from anyone. Not to sound offensive but down here Korean women don't give two shits about anyone else's cars. That was a fact I learned from my Japanese Co-Workers and I saw first hand when one of them pushed her shopping cart towards the shopping cart storage thing and she just watched as it turned and slammed into someones car right before she got in her car and drove away. Lucky for that person I got her tag number and left him a note with it.

nah man.. that's the worst part of it.. did not catch or see it happen.. I just saw it when I got home and getting it wiped for the day.. :(

tnt 09-18-2012 01:38 AM

that sucks man .... ppl do that shit all the time

whaap 09-18-2012 01:41 AM

One thing I learned a long time ago: if you don't expect anything good from people you don't know you won't be disappointed.

FX86 05-14-2016 03:01 AM

i installed little rubber 3m pads (carbon fiber) on the edge of my door so i slowly open it up and place my door against the other car when they park too damn close to me and i can't get out it easily

I understand that it's not intentional but most of the time it's because of people not being aware of their surroundings. Similar to drivers that text or are on their phone, but that's a whole other post and that pisses me off too. What really rustles my jimmies is when people intentionally do damage to cars and have no respect for other people's things.

Kids plus strong winds can end badly as well. (And the mothers of these kids + strong gusty winds)

Yep, we got a start on thinning out that gene pool back in the 40's, with the 4-door cars with the "suicide" back doors ..... :eyebulge:

OK, that's it. Rant time.
Ready?
I was sitting in my car waiting for the wife to finish work. Some guy, maybe in his late 40s gets out of his $1000 shitbox and opens his door onto mine. It wasn't a hard opening just a bit of a clunk. Now, I know accidents happen and I don't take particular care of the outside of my car, just a wash every now and then. I wasn't mad at him opening his door on to mine; what really annoyed me was the blasé attitude he had. No apology, just a "Hey, do you want to swap cars ha ha ha?"

GM had the right idea with those Saturn plastic door skins.

Unless you live in cold climates! Sombody backed into the side of my wife's Saturn when she was driving by during a really cold day. A light touch that may have scuffed the paint and left a small ding in metal caused the whole quarter panel to explode. Plastic shrapnel everywhere. I guess there is always a compromise.

Just today, saw a very new Lamborghini Haracan Spyder parked in a local supermarket car park. The car park is on a slight slope and I was watching drivers, shoppers doing their thing and notice a guy unloading his shopping into his beat up SUV. Unattended trolleys have a habit to roll away downhill and finding expensive things as bump stops! Yep, it rolls away and comes to painful stop against the Lambo! Och!

My buddy parked his brand new 01 Mustang GT (performance red) away from everyone else in the back of Treasure Island casino lot (in vegas), we spent a few hours there and then returned to the car to find a yellow cavalier parked next to us.

He investigates his door and finds a dent with some yellow paint residue. He was so furious he kicked a huge dent in their door. I lol'd got in the car and we drove away.

Dent for a ding... seems legit.

I'm having a really hard time not condoning that act. Not gonna lie, for all the times I've been hit-&-run on, I'm cheering on the inside.

Your friend is now my friend; we have a similar understanding of how things should be. I have gone vigilante on people disrespecting cars that didn't even belong to me. I came out of a restaurant with my wife and there were some teenagers standing next to a nice car and one was sitting on it with his back to me. As I walked up his friends saw me but didn't warn him (good friends you have there) I came up beside him and he noticed me. I asked him, "is this your car?" He said "no." I came back with a full pimp windup and when I contacted with the middle of his back he went flying off the car and crashed into his friends. I calmly cautioned him "then get the fuck off it." His buddies laughed at him (seriously, dude, get better friends!) My wife asked why I did that. I explained that that car's owner obviously likes it and would have done the same if he caught it. I hoped someone else would do the same for me if somebody did the same to my car. Car guy karma is swift and just. :paddle:
