how do you effectively clean the windows?
 

Hey guys, i basically wash my car every week with just water as i had opti coated it....

call me a noob or whatever, this may sound stupid however, im finding it REALLY hard to remove water streaks...im using a meguire's microfibre cloth and every time i finish spraying the car with water, i fold the cloth up into 8 folds so theres a clean side everytime....despite this process, im still getting water mark streaks...:sigh:

i researched online, people were claiming windex would do the job....and somehow EVEN vinegar mixed with water (into a spray bottle) could easily do the job as well.....

what are your thoughts??? :thanks:

When I went to get my current car tinted by Rob Tait (Car Tint he used regular dishwashing liquid and water in a spray bottle to clean the inside windows. I think he was wiping it with a glass cleaning cloth (can be found at your local supermarket or Bunnings).

Alternatively, using windex or any other glass window cleaning product with newspaper to wipe will achieve the same streak free results.

That really sounds like it should be doing it.

Possibly a stupid question, but have you tinted the car? Are you sure when the car was tinted that the windows were clean?

If its not that, I would be questioning the water quality.

First off don't ever wash your car with just water please , if you are using a hand wash use the soap first it kinda acts like a lubricant to take off all the dirt .. And for windows (the outside of windows) I use rain x windshield Washer fluid with a spray bottle .. Takes everything off , for the inside I use invisible glass (tint safe)

I had the same issue with mircofibre cloths on windows, switch to papertowls and issue gone!

Vinegar water mix works well but switching to paper towel from microfiber worked best for me.

As for just cleaning with water, I'd use at least Optimum No Rinse.

Yeah conventional window cleaner has ammonia which is bad for tint. Use window cleaners designed for cars.

Is the microfibre towel you're using a waffle weave type? They're supposedly better for drying.

Ive got a similar issues. Cant get rid of water marks. I used invisible glass and all the other tricks, no go still there....

use papertowls buddy, mircofibre cloths are great for drying water on panels but are useless on glass IMO
