FR-S Base Pioneer Radio w/iPhone

Does anyone know if it's possible to browse by artist on the head unit when the it's paired with the iPhone via Bluetooth? I can get music to stream, but can only skip tracks on the album that I choose in the iPhone music app. I'm currently using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1, but will be using an iPhone 5 as soon as they ship..

I'm pretty sure you can with it connected through the cable, but not sure if it's Bluetooth. I don't have my car right now, so I can't check for you. For reference I have a 4S iPhone. I'm pretty sure it's not set up for ios6, though, since it's not even released yet, but probably ios5.

Well, I can get it to totally work through the cable, but cannot browse anything except the current album I'm listening to when I connect via Bluetooth. I'm hoping this issue is due to iPhone 4 having Bluetooth 2.1 vs 4.0 on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

The particular bluetooth profile that supports browsing over bluetooth is AVRCP 1.4. It may be available when you upgrade to iOS 6, but chances are it will be on the iPhone 5.

Still can't browse by anything with the iPhone 5..

Did you get the $30 adapter for the cable that comes with the car?

No, I didn't, but I would prefer to use Bluetooth so I don't have cables getting tangled up and can keep my phone in my pocket. I guess I'll just buy a flash drive to load with music. :)
