OPTI-coat it yourself. I followed the directions in AUTOGEEK and it came out beautiful. It took me two days, but I did it by hand and didn't,use a buffer on any of the steps. |

Also, I haven't really made much noise about it just yet. But I'm an official sponsor here on ft86 as well. Kinda waiting to get the shop going Regarding the question concerning applying it yourself - anyone can buy opti coat (2.0) and the application of the product is not that difficult in the proper lighting (that is key). However, the surface decon and paint correction process requires a lot of know how, time, tools, and product. In addition guys like myself and Phil (detailer's domain) are authorized installers of Optimum coatings and therefore able to obtain "Opti-Guard" which is the original / professional version of the product. |

So we might have to do this in the spring :( |

how long does opti-coat last?
|
Its supposed to be permanent...
But who knows |
It lasts as long as your paint does, the only thing that can remove it is abrasion. ie. sanding, harsh contact, repaints etc...
|
just a quick update here
all behind the scenes bs is done. Papers are signed and by mid jan I should be taking cars at my new shop - 31 Eads St. Unit E in West Babylon :-) Those of you patiently waiting will be getting contacted shortly after the new year |
Awesome

|
P.s. i need to get a pic tomorrow, i got the optiguard saturday in long island, drove over 300 miles home, and then another 170 miles over xmas ( car saw 2" of snow) as well as some errands locally, and then drove it to and from work 2 days now ( in even more snow) and has yet to be washed since long island, and its still clean and shiny!
