Texas World Speedway

Anyone that participate in HPDE's at TWS? I am going this weekend with the Lone Star Porsche Club. You can also participate in events without being member of a car club. Could be fun to be more 86 cars on the track.
It is a great track! Maybe too fast for our cars to shine, but still tons of fun.

I missed the boat on that event... Even worse, I missed the sign-in for the PCA Maverick Region event at MSR Cresson this weekend (closer to home)... I feel so bad! :brokenheart:

Oh well... I have another event before the end of this month (TDE @ MSR Cresson), and then two next month (Including TDE @ TWS - October 13th / 14th... Followed by BMW CCA @ MSR Cresson the weekend after). :D

Darn... I'm spending the remainder of my food money on these track events! :bellyroll:

Had a blast with the BRZ on Texas World Speedway today. My best laps were at 2.11. I was surprised how good I hanged on to 911's. For reference I have 2.09 laps with a 997s, 2.08 laps with my E92 M3 and 2.05 with my Nissan GTR. The brakes stayed fade free. I had Ferodo DS2500 in front only. My Michelin Supersport startet to melt when I pushed hard in the end of a 20 minute session. I think it wise to keep the tire pressure at 38 psi or lower hot.

Good to know...

Boy, you own a nice collection of cars mentioned there. :D

Yes, I've been adviced to try out the Ferodo DS2500's... May order them soon along with the rear pads (DS2500 rears not out for sale yet from what I was told).

A local member once told me that he keeps his PSI at 45 cold... But I got intimidated from trying that out, lol... I try to stick around 35 cold, and then work along from that point... I may try out 38 like you do, just to get a feel next time... :)

45 psi cold ?! Maybe on a 45 sec Autocross. I gain 6-7 psi on the track on a warm day. When I came in with 40 psi the tires started to feel chewy. Next time I will start out with 32-34 psi cold tires.

I tried to stay at max 38 psi hot. I started with 34 cold and came in from the track with 40 and I reduced 2 psi. This could also be a bit tire dependent. You can also consider having 1 psi less on one side dependent on run direction on your track.

Helpful to know... You must be running harder on your tires... I didn't gain that much since I wasn't pushing as hard as I'd like in my last event... Hopefully I can make it up soon.

I'll definitely keep your info handy when preparing...
