Any of you putting off mods???

Any of you guys out there putting off or delaying mods to your car due to all the problems/issues for the car? I've decided to put off, in some cases, and stop mods, in other cases, completely. For example, I've decided not to install a pulley completely. I don't want to have to explain myself or argue with the techs when I do finally take the car in to get the chirpping looked at or fixed.

So I've decided to leave it at the Airaid intake and an exhaust for now. In terms of exhausts I'm torn between the ARM GRIP and the Perrin (both catbacks).

Just wanted to see if any you guys out there were thinking the same.

just dont install any until issue is solved. dealer always bring "you installed this and your warranty is void" word to you. even it's not related to that specific part.
it's better to remove installed parts before going to dealer

What issues are you experiencing?

I have delayed modification because my wife told me I had to since I spend too much damn money.

yea i got a few issues im dealing with as well. like the chirping and some bad customer service at the dealer i got my car at. im waiting to put a few things on myself.

I have a brand new Greddy intake in the box and an SP Exhaust on the way, I made and intake with an alloy tube I got from exciler8z. It didn't throw any CEL or bog, I took it off to take my car into Beaver Toyota to address the TSB for the ECU and the Fuel pump replacement for the cricket farm. The only thing missing from the stock congiuration is the resonator that was riveted to the OEM air box, I capped it with a 1 1/2 rubber plug from ACe Hardware.
I am going to buy an AVO silicone intake and sound generator hose then install the Greddy SP axle back and hope for the best. If that works I'll install the Greddy intake and see if I get any CEL or bogging issues.

well for one, I would never worry about losing warranty coverage over a cat-back. However, intakes can get you....

Yeah, I'm probably going to be holding off when it comes to a tune and possibly an intake. I am currently only doing suspension mods, but I will probably do the Perrin exhaust before the end of the year. I doubt they will void me for an cat-back system.

Mine will remain stock until the day I get rid of it!!!!! Left my last car stock for 7.5 years and 65,000 miles, and it was an STi which didn't need to be modded IMO!!!!!

Probably got good money for it to when you sold it. Its hard to find unmodded cars.

The chirpping issue for one. The slight dip in idle. The windows not going up or down together. The GPS loosing signal and the Navi being sluggish in general. I'm hoping there aren't any others.

Modern cars are highly optimized, so when you replace components, you either do not get any improvements, or compromise reliability. My last car was a model popular among tuners, but the only non-factory thing I installed was Bluetooth hands-free system for my phone.

Yeah the Greddy SP is an axle back so Beaver Toyota can pound sand about warranty issues there, the AVO kit is just a re fabrication of a stock item so again the sand is their friend.

I reported the dip in the torque curve to Scion, I had a baseline of the car done on the Mustang Dyno in RR after my break in so I could see where it sits now, Wouldn't that be great if Scion came up with a flash to fix the dip? Yeah when pigs fly.:bellyroll:
