opti coat - cleaning maintenance process
 
After one gets a opti coat, what's the cleaning process like? just wash the car and clay? is that it? I know waxing/sealing is pointless after the coat. Is deconning required?

Nope, just need 3 things:

- Soap
- Detailer
- Tire shine

The opti-coat doesn't let contamination bond to it.

...and you can wax it if you want, just claybar it before you do.

No point. The wax won't bond to the Opti Coat. You may get a couple weeks out of it. That'll be about it. I'd suggest using Wolfs Deironizer or Carpro IronX to decontaminate. That way you aren't touching the paint at all and with the little bit of contaminants that might stick to it, those products shouldn't have any problems removing it for you.

Agreed! Here is my process for maintaining customers cars that have been coated.

Wash with optimum no rinse if not to dirty or optimum car wash 2 bucket method if really dirty.

Once a year I Decon the paint with ironx followed by a very fine grade clay and send them on there way for another year :)

What if you want that super glossy look for a car show? Would waxing make it look glossier?

You can add gloss, but it's temporary. If your only doing it for day of the show gloss, use optimum spray car wax, or their instant detailer. Both will amp up the gloss and slickness.

You would be getting the car as glossy as possible, then opti coating it to seal in the glossy look. Then all it should take is a simple washing to bring it out.

I like Meguiars NXT if we're talking waxes. Its also very reasonably priced.
