Just got response from Subie Stickers that my Titanium shift knob ships today. Can't wait.
For anyone who's still looking for the STI Titanium shift knob: http://subiestickers.com/oem-subaru-...um-shift-knob/ Get it while it lasts as it fits and someone in this thread already mentioned it's discontinued. Someone by the name of Daniel over there has been most helpful with me spamming him with emails asking when it's going to be shipped. Great guy for putting up with me. I wouldn't have been so kind if I was selling stuff to myself, that's for sure. |

like last week on the 15th of september. shipping now, not sure how long it's going to take but the shipping is free. It might require me to pay some levies or duties. Still, it's a great knob and i've had a chance to drive an STi with one and it felt very good in hand so i'm expecting good results on my car.

Running a TRD shift knob that I had in my IS200 lighter then the standard one so its easier to feel the gears and it feels great in my hand!

They needed to recess the threaded part into the knob more, it looks like it doesn't fit because it doesn't.. |
^ ur just going around and shitting everywhere huh?

It's the truth... The knobs people are using don't take into account where the FR-S/BRZ Reverse is. So you have 3/4 inch of unfinished bare metal showing between leather and knob.. It looks TACKY. |
I could just tap the hole further and probably will. now i just need the internal thread pattern.

Smaller and a bit lighter than stock... not sure if I like it more or less than the stock one. |

it's not like the car uses 50 of those. |

I'm a bit of a stickler for things needing to fit perfectly and look like its made to go where its put. - That part aside this is one of my favorite looking shifters. |

What is the appeal of the bubble knobs?

I had a few spare shift knobs around so I thought I would try them. Neither one is perfect though so I will not keep them on. Sorry these are crappy nighttime (with flash) cell pics. old TRD shifter that came with the TRD shortshifter for my SW20 MR2. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...pse80fda90.jpg I never put it on because it looked cheap, it's made of plastic or nylon or something like that, made to look like leather but it's not. Really lightweight and smaller than the stock knob by a fair margin. Sits really high on the BRZ shifter so the reverse lockout works fine, but I won't be using this. Besides mine's a BRZ not FR-S/86 so I can't rock the TRD. :iono: Voodoo Pearl knob from my ZZW30 MR2. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ps55733566.jpg Voodoo knobs were originally not available for Toyotas (the guy was a Miata fan and hated Toyotas), so it was kind of a small coup of sorts for a friend to get a small run of them made that fit on the MR2s. Of course now they're available for everything. :rolleyes: But anyways this one when screwed all the way down, interferes with the reverse lockout. So this one won't work either. I really like the WC Lathe Works titanium knob, but man that is expensive for a shift knob... feel like someone will smash the window just to take it. I will probably go ahead an order a new Voodoo knob (designed for the Subaru), I already know it will look and feel good and only cost half as much. |
@PMok why don't use a Richbrook one?
Is quite similar..maybe a bit smaller? They are quite cheap. I just bought this for my Clio: http://img.tapatalk.com/02dd83da-8ef8-e4f5.jpg http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/1...3842759405.jpg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TITANIUM-R...item45ff6ba964 I had the titanium, not slanted one on the previous RS. It's lift for reverse, so the base is different: http://win.clubminitalia.com/vari/Cl...ichbrook_2.jpg http://images.esellerpro.com/2347/I/975/0/lrg100289.jpg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILVER-RIC...item51a1e7e43b |
