How/where did you get the red backlit TRD start button? Everywhere else I've looked suggests that the TRD start button lights up green - that's what put me off buying one so far.

I disassembled both the stock and TRD units and swapped the button caps.

Thought that might've been the case! Was it a difficult job - I.e. cutting required? Or do they simply pry apart?

It wasn't difficult at all. No cutting required. You just have to be carful and patient when you pry open the tabs. Only tool needed is a small jewelers flat screwdriver

Just got mine from WC Lathe Werks. You all were right, dealing with Chris was super easy and he really took the time to help me plan the design and look that I wanted. Not only does it look awesome, but feels great too. I would recommend them to anyone!

Sorry to quote you on such an old post, but the more I see this knob the more I kind of want it. Do you remember how much it cost you?

You mean exactly like it (Gone in 60 seconds style), or just the basic knob (the copolymer sphere)?

I think it was about $120, for the custom engraving, the knob and the additional work at the bottom (there are engraved circles you can't see). It is about the same size as the stock shift knob. I have several knobs, but this is the one I'm using now and it always turns heads without being gaudy.

I know it's been posted before, but just installed the TRD knob this week, and really liking the look and feel of it. It's not technically the "JDM" one, but for $37 shipped I couldn't resist.

^ Yep, eBay, and no issues at all. Looks perfect, and feels better too. After lots of searching, I saw the "JDM" TRD knob ships in the same box labeled "made in Italy". So no sense in spending over $100 more
