Is it really that difficult...?

In the past week I have had two people hit my car with their doors and leave scratches in the paint. Is it really that difficult to open a car door without hitting the car next to you?

Note: I always park in an end spot and usually the most distant, out-of-the-way spot I can find. Also, these people had a good three feet of room between the two cars and they still hit my door. WTF people?

Is anyone else's car constantly assaulted by these types of ignorant a-holes?

My altima has been pretty raped by college kids constantly hitting it. Even had someone scrape my bumper. I would often get of class to find my cars alarm going off or telling me it has went off. I've spent the entire summer trying to fix up the damage people have done to it. Happy I wasn't able to get a new car in college or else I would have been livid. I came out of a grocery store and as I was walking the alarm went off as someone just shoved a shopping cart into my fender, leaving a large dent. They ran off and hopped in their car and jetted before I could say I think. F those people, F them...

I witness someone bump, scrape, or crash into another person's car almost every time I go to college. People just don't give a crap about others' vehicles if they don't care about theirs. Luckily, my other car is a beater. :)

It's a law of nature I'm sure.

You can park in an empty lot and some ass-hat will park right next to you. This is especially true for nice looking cars and very much the reason people double park them.

When it comes to sports cars, I see no problem with double parking them in a lot that has the capacity to spare it. You're far less likely to get keyed by double parking way off in the distance than you are to get a door ding from some retard that parked next to the pretty car.

While I was *IN* my car, I had someone someone park next to me, open the door and hit it. After hearing the thud, I step out to look at it and the guy had the balls to say he didn't hit it. Thankfully there were no markings, but people can be really stupid.

My bimmer was hit by someone in the parking lot.

I wasn't even in the car. lol

Well, I'm not a typical bimmer jerk, but people just hate.

Tell us where this parkade is so we can all avoid parking there... Lol

This is why I hate going down to Richmond; their parking spaces are tight, many people there can't seem to be able to drive, and some of their roads are just so stupidly confusing.
(Is it in Richmond? Lol)

Many many years ago, I had some asswipe bitch door ding my car while I was sitting in it. I immediately got out and she immediately started ranting about 'don't make a big deal of this, it's just a nick"...
I said a few choice words to her as she walked away and as she entered the store, she turned around and flipped me off.
I still wonder what it cost her to have the FUCK YOU I keyed into her door removed and repainted....

Saner people than us don't care much about door dings.

For those of us who do, the best defense is a strong defense.

This product seems pretty thoughtfully designed:

that doorshox looks promissing if it wasn't so damn ugly.

Usually when i walk to my car and see a car parked next to it, I have my key ready to do reciprical damage if the door dink lines match up...

jeebus 09-12-2012 06:50 PM

some cars are especially prone to it. This car, like many other cheap, light, japanoboxes, has panels that dent just by looking at them funny. I've had BMWs that never get door dings...not because people don't ding them, but because the doors are more solid.

It is what it is. Any time I catch someone do it to my car I kick their doors in. My .02.

Beware the obese soccer mom and her gaggle of idiot children.

Soccer mom will definitely park on the line next to your passenger door, leaving half the room for her bloated walking corpse of a body to get out while her brood literally kicks open the back doors(also on the passenger side) instead of getting out on the clear side which incidentally has twice as much room.

If you ever see it happen, make sure to file a claim. Punishment is the only way these landwhales will learn. If you let them off and bite your tongue, it will continue for eternity.

Welcome to America.
