Bluetooth causing head unit to reset?

Is anyone else having this problem?

I first had it with my Blackberry Bold, which was a POS phone so I thought it was a phone issue. Then I tried my wife's android phone and my iPhone 4 and they all have the same problem.

The phone will connect, transfer the contacts, etc, great at first. Then it works for a day or two. However, after a few connections then every time the head unit says it is confirming connection with phone the entire head unit resets. It goes black, then flashes the Subaru logo, comes back on, says confirming connection again, then goes blank, and repeats.

It did this with all 3 phones. Once it starts neither seem to work again, I have deleted the car from the phone and deleted the phone from the car and every time I try and re-pair it just resets over and over again with any of the 3 phones.

I am due for an oil change soon and I guess I'll have the dealer check it out, but I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and knows a fix?

Thanks

This happened to me once. All I had to do was disable bluetooth on my iphone and let the headunit boot up all the way before re-enabling bluetooth on the phone. Haven't had a problem since.

Just a quick update for anyone that may have this issue at some time.

I had the dealer look at it today when they were doing my first oil change and they were absolutely no help. Their answer, seriously, was that my phone must not be compatible with the bluetooth system. Pay no mind that I told them it didn't work on a blackberry, iphone, or android.

So, frustrated, I went home and figured it is a computer right? So I unplugged the battery cable and let it sit for ~10mins. I fired the car back up and now after re setting up the nav system, the bluetooth works like a charm!

Reviving an old thread here but i saw this before i got my car and since getting the car ive had this issues on two occasions. Phone is a galaxy s3 and it doesnt have any issues conencting.

1st occasion after starting the car the headunit was flickering abit and cutting out then just went dead. About 20secs later it powered up and was reset. I had to select language, units etc again.

2nd occasion was about 3 weeks later, i hadnt had an issue since except the occasional audio stuttering on car start. Anyway this time the headunit died, powered on and reset itself. I put the settings back in and then it did it again. Put settings in a 2nd time and then it reset a 3rd time! After that it was ok, that was last weekend and i havent had issues since then but im sure it will do it again. I didnt think that it could be related to BT but makes sense as it happens right after you start the car and the headunit powers on. Although the 2nd occasion happened 20-30min into a trip so hmm.

Doesnt bother me too much as i plan to upgrade it one day as the factory satnav is pretty crap.
