Is the Limited slip differential identifiable?
 

hello 86er's,

Still haven't ordered my 86 yet because toyota Jamaica don't know the specs of the models they have available:bonk:. They seem to get the same models as Australia but I'm not sure.

I am willing to go with the lower trim model as there is a $500,000(JMD) ~ $5500(USD) price difference. Plus I really don't need leather and heated seats in the tropics :rolleyes:. I just want to make sure the base model comes with the LSD.

Is there anyway to tell if the car has an LSD by looking at it? Is the differential case labeled?

They all come with an LSD standard.

Not outside of North America.

JDM base with the 3.73:1 diff has no LSD.

some of A/T outside north america has no LSD

If it is the same models that we get in Australia then this info is INCORRECT.
The auto lower spec here has no LSD. All other models do.

correct. the stripped model doesn't come with a LSD. if the car has factory steelies, unpainted bumpers, etc, then it likely won't have a LSD.

i'm guessing if it has a LSD, it should be clearly labeled by the dealer.

Lol yeh. USA was lucky to get only LSD's. Couldn't imagine this car without one.

Figure the southern island would get it too, but probably not. :(

It's not just the stripped one mate. our "low spec" vehicle certainly isn't stripped ;)
